Ray-Ray might have the will(pun intended ) power to play SAM. I can possibly see Tartt come in on nickle if what we're discussing currently is the base package.
The SAM often takes on the lead blocker and or tight end. They will also drop into coverage or be used as an extra blitzer. They have to be multi-faceted. That's why they are typically bigger guys like Brooks that have a versatile game.
Ray Ray's background is as a safety and his strength as a linebacker has been in coverage. The WILL needs to be savy in coverage and have some range to them. That is the position that will play to his strengths.

Michigan S/LB Jabrill Peppers had a really good workout in the DB position drills. Can open the hips with the range to track the ball. Has the footwork to drive on the throw. Speed out of turns/break. Ran an official 4.46 (at 213 pounds) on Sunday with the linebackers.

I agree with you 100%. I was just playing a game where someone said about Tartt playing a small SAM and thought if say we did wanna go that route you'd slide Ray-Ray to SAM(that's why I said if R2 has the WILL as a pun).
I really wanted Hightower but now I wanna be cheap and go the draft route lol.
Anyhoot, back to Peppers. Didn't look as great as some of the other DBs but still intriguing. Can be a guy that needs a year before taking over the SS role...he'd be able to do that here with Reid and compete with Tartt. Could also probably play FS too if we decide to move Ward for a year but feel that wouldn't be fair to Jimmie.

Yessir! All love baby, I do like Peppers now though cause I hadn't seen him much in college. So many different effing routes we can go in! I just wanna trade down once or twice in the first cause I desperately want another second lol.

I was saying a while back that once he can focus on 1 position he can be a animal. He's definitely not the most polished Safety coming out. But his ceiling is hard to deny.

Exactly.. Same here.. When he focuses on just the defensive backfield its going to be a wrap. He is too smart, too gifted. Electric
