the Niners will be back in the NFC championship game again. they may not have home field but that won't matter.
this team will dominate next season. they will be motivated by Harbs and sunday's loss.

Lot of people seem to think this year was a fluke. You don't go 13-3 every year, or host the championship game every year. That is true. But this team is solid and now is in the hands of a competent GM and a very good head coach. Most of our key players are before or approaching their prime, with exceptions -- Gore, Justin Smith, Whitner, Rogers. We have a lot of cap room and a GM who seems to know how to use it. We have an experienced but still young QB who has improved a lot and another intriguing prospect backing him up. We have a top flight pass rusher who is 22. This team is going to be good for a while. I can't say they didn't blow a golden opportunity -- they did. But this isn't the last time they'll be in the hunt for a championship and I have faith that Harbaugh will find a way to get it done.

This is where my head's at too. I think we'll get in the playoffs with 10 wins, but no way does the scenario to win the SB get as easy as it did this year. We'll probably have to play at GB or NO, and hope we go in "hot" and be lucky as f**k like some other b******t team representing the NFC this year. f**king Kyle Williams killed the dream for who knows how long.

We had home games, but I don't think we had it as easy as you say. New Orleans was arguably the best team in football this year and that's who we drew. And the Giants record was deceptive. They were clearly playing better at the end of the year when they got healthy. Green Bay looked like s**t. Maybe because they were rusty, or maybe because they got exposed. I wouldn't say that facing New Orleans and New York were the perfect setup to march right into the Super Bowl. Like Alex Smith said, when you get down to the final four, you're going to play another very good football team. The optimistic outlook is that we have a lot of good, young returning talent, a great head coach, a good GM, and cap room to spare.

By easy, I meant closer to perfect. We got the saints who were right behind us all year out of the dome and at home, and beat them in a magical fashion and gained confidence. Then we were super lucky to get the giants, a team we beat and that I still feel we are better than, rather than go to the death trap that is lambeau field. Then in the SB, I feel we play NE tough, and based off how Baltimore did, I think we beat them as well. Everything that we needed to happen did, which is why I'm so angry that we blew this chance due to an anomaly. Next year I have hard time seeing everything playing out so nicely.

Unless this team loses some of its key players from the defensive side of the ball, this team makes the playoffs with Andy Lee and Akers. It would be hard for this offense to regress despite whoever is taking snaps or running routes. I do think RB is a concern for this team next year. Frank has been wearing down lately and I am not sure if the front office sees Hunter as an every down back.

I've only turned the tv on for 20 minutes for Harbaugh's day after conference since that game. I don't want to hear any suckfest about new york or new england. Both teams were insanely lucky to be where they are, but I guess the media and east coast got what they wanted. f**k man, I don't think I'll ever be able to get over this one .

Might get a few less wins but we'll still make the play-offs. The team made it pretty far this season, you gotta believe with a few new additions we'll still be Superbowl contenders.

What are you & everyone so doubtful about. We play 5 avg teams & 3 elite teams. The giants have already proved that the Pat & GB are beatable at home. Say what you want(G-men fans, I respect the FACT that you have scoreboard on us) but I still think we're better than them & we've proved to be road warriors this year too. As far as the aints go, like the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end. I believe we're the team to do it. This team is that talented & harbs is that good( I think). As for home games we play all avg to slightly above avg teams except for the G-men. I can see us being this years slackers next season but witout the blowouts jus grind it out wins. H3!! we almost did it this year wit basically no offseason. GO NINERS! in 2012 & beyond.

Great teams make their path look easier. This team had a championship caliber defense and a mediocre to bad offense. That required "the stars to come into alignment", which they almost did. If they can ramp up the offense, and I think they will through the draft, free agency and more comfort with the Harbaugh scheme, they'll create their own luck. Ronnie Lott used to preach playing to the Niner standard and not worrying about what other teams are doing. I think Harbuagh, with this season, just reinstated the old 49er standard. In the long run that might be a greater gift than pulling off the improbable miracle this year.
