Is it safe to call Reggie Bush a bust?

I dont know, but I think it may have to do with the team itself.

You dont want to give up on a player you committed to financially and otherwise (team leader, face of the franchise).

Teams try to hold out hope, but if the player isnt good, doesnt matter if he is on the team or not, he is a bust

Frank Gore averages 99 yards from scrimmage a game since joining the NFL with 26 total TD's in 59 games.

Reggie Bush averages 83 yards from scrimmage a game. with 24 td's in only 38 games.


Gore 99 yards pg, 26 td's in 59 games
Bush 83 yards pg, 24 td's in 38 games

yeah, and Bush has Bress at QB and Gore has had Dilfer, Smith, Hill, Dorsey, etc... at QB.

And a good amount of bush's td's are from returns.

But for the question, yes at this point he hasnt lived up to huis expectations.

While Gore has proven he wasnt a reach or a bust in the 3rd round.

Bust... NO!!!
Hasn't lived up to expectations... YES!!!

To me a bust is someone drafted real high and is out of the league in a few years bc they sucked. Reggie is the starting RB for the Saints this year and he's been in the league for a few years.

According ot the OP criteria of a bust, half the players drafted in the first round are busts.
