So long story short, Dunce-don screwed them over. However, the league wasn't built to last from the start and the threat of the XFL was just one other nail in the coffin.
XFL has an exit strategy tho. Vince will sell the WWF/WWE to Disney or Fox if he has to. He could then rebuild another side franchise with that money, or continue to make the WWE/WWF grow as an advisor like with what Dana White is doing with the UFC.
AAF looked like a huge gamble with no cab fare money leftover.
