The pressure on Trey to be worthy of the traded picks to move up will be telling.

You can only grade this draft in hindsight.

But I enjoyed it and hope for the best. It seems like the team is all in on the quest for 6.

So it's only a first rounder for the next 2 years. We also get an extra 3rd next year for Saleh and another 3rd the year after for Mayhew being GM of Washington.

that's not even considering we may get something if we trade Jimmy G at some point

I wanted Asante Samuel in the 2nd and we could of traded up to get a guard in the 3rd vs the rb or just got a good guard with our late third pick.

A because we didn't draft a WR which is wild...didn't see the point in taking two RBs (but I love the prospects). Huge fan of grabbing OL in this draft. They took care of OL/secondary which was a big need.

Let's face it, if Lance becomes a stuff the draft is a A+

I find all these letter grades silly, almost as silly as the draftnik obsession with "value" and "reaching". I thought we had a good strategy. Drafted the QB with upside that can wait behind the veteran but also gives cover for the inevitable injury. Flooded the DB and OL positions - hopefully a couple of these picks should stick long term and even provide depth for injuries and ST next year. No issues with the RB picks, especially since one may turn into a kick returner.

Now, who knows whether these players pan out? But as a strategy it's sound.

I gave them an A-, all these people who tank drafts because they think they know how players will pan out are full of s**t. They have draft crushes they didn't get and want to cry about it. What I saw, was a front office who went hard at addressing two huge areas of need at corner and interior O-line, thought ahead and looked at running back a year early and most importantly to me, saw that we were lacking toughness and snarl in our game and went out and found players who will bring a little badly needed mean streak.

Pretty much. I was a big fan of the Sermon pick. I love his potential in Kyle's offense. I'm glad we recognized the pass protection issues on the oline last year and have attempted to fix it with this draft and Mack. Corner depth was a huge need and was filled. Thomas could really be a player and likely would have went higher had he not opted out.

However this draft will live or die on what kind of qb Lance becomes. If nobody else works out but Lance still becomes a top 5 NFL qb this draft is still an A for me imo.
