Considering how the entire offense regressed with Brissett, Moncrief didn't have a terrible year. TY Hilton only had 57 catches last year (91 prior season).

It was clear to anyone watching the Colts that Brissett looked to Doyle the majority of the time because it was the safe option. He's not a guy that can push the ball down the field, so Moncrief never stood a chance to produce quality numbers.

If I were the Colts I'd let Moncrief go too. They need quick, shifty WRs that can uncover quickly. Landry would've been perfect for them. They're a mess right now and won't be able to utilize a guy like Moncrief properly. Hilton is wasting away there too, which is probably why they tried to trade him last year.

Pagano ruined that team. Moncrief could be a nice player in the right system. He'd be a good option if Kyle likes the physical tools he brings.

No to Sammy Watkins.

It has nothing to do with the medical flags, it has nothing to do with not living up to hype he came into the league with.

Quite simply, I don't think he's an alpha #1 WR that people gameplan against.

Someone that opens up things for everybody else. I don't think he's that guy.

I'd rather get someone in the draft, if they strike out on Robinson.

You make a good point, FL9er - he's probably better suited as a WR2, doing more work inside the hash marks. He's got elite speed, so he can also do some damaging stretching the field opposite a WR1.

2014-2017
Moncrief-
Games: 53
Rec:152
Yards:1875
TDs:18

Robinson-
Games:42
Rec: 202
Yards:2848
TDs: 22

Watkins-
Games:52
Rec: 192
Yards:3052
TDs:25

I know stats don't tell all but they've all been bit by the injury bug. Robinson does have more consistency in his stats if you check out his yearly breakdown tho

I could see him as a target. I get the feeling we're not looking for a 4 down starter but a role player to fill the #4 WR role.
Moncrief+Burton. Add two legit redzone weapons, more quality targets for Jimmy G to throw to.

I like that idea. Jimmy and Kyle would love to have potential elite receivers(who wouldn't) but the fact is we don't NEED it. They can be great with solid receivers . We would be special with just Goodwin/Garçon/Taylor/Kittle/Celek.

We carved up the Jaguars d without Garçon and with jimmy only on the team for less than 2 months. Now a full offseason under his belt, added chemistry, and with Garçon and Trenton back should dramatically improve our offense. Then on top of that if we wanna add Moncrief and Burton then we're cookin up something special while keeping some sweet sweet cap space.

I like it. Spreading the $$$ around to multiple RZ targets instead of overpaying AR. Then, draft a developmental WR in the 4th or 5th.

Moncrief's numbers are better then I thought though not great obviously. But he has had substitute at qb. I was not as impressed with him as some here were when he was coming out of college. I didn't think he had great hands and if I remember correctly wasn't a great route runner either. I wouldn't mind if we got him but I would look at him as the poor man Allen Robinson who I would prefer to Moncrief. I think also that Robinson could be Shanny's poor mans Julio Jones.

Maybe, maybe not. Niners wanted Talib and he didn't want to report. There are no absolutes.
