How long will it take? It's hard to make predictions, especially about the future.

Do we know that?

The decisions to throw those passes is my biggest concern and I'm hoping a preseason game like this helps ensure those decisions are made differently in games that actually count.

Protection was an issue and needs to be fixed but the offense is vanilla with no game planning and an OL overwhelmed by some elite pass rushers.

This will not be the case week 1 or 2. If there are still growing pains/rust I think Jimmy will get over it quick and get his swag back for the better defenses to come.

Do we know he's not ready now? Yes, I do.

Five picks in a row in practice, more picks than yards in this game, what should have been 2 picks in six passes, one of which would have been a pick 6, poor decisions not to throw balls away or just take the damn sack, looking rattled which is really going to cause DC's to bring the house down on him and the zoners complaining about the line instead of him making them pay.

I appreciate how tough it is to come back from a serious leg injury, and some guys are able to do it really quickly, but for most of us humans, it takes significant time. Is he getting rid of the ball in an uncontrolled manner to avoid the hit or sack? I don't know. But yes, his play shows he's not ready.

Maybe he will fix it quickly and this will just be a blip and it shouldn't be a concern. That's what I'm saying we have no way of knowing. He only has two weeks.

I predicted he would get 8 attempts passing and he had 6. I see it more as Shanahan protecting his QB, the O-line was also suppose to help out too. I have no doubt that if this was a real game, he would've got into more of a rhythm as the game went on.

Well...it would feel a lot better if he completed 1 for 5yds at least...despite it being pre-season. I'm desperate for him to be a real franchise QB...you know with all the winning and stats and stuff...
Ugh...pre-season is such a tease

Yah it would feel better, but in the end it would still be a crap debut either way you slice it. Trust me I'm desperate for a franchise QB too, so this time I'm gonna be a little more patient than I have with been with Alex Smith or Kaepernick. Think about it like this, if this were a real game Jimmy G. would've sat backand handed the ball off all day. Tevin Colenman had 3 carries and when he did he broke it for 7 to 8 yards or whatever it was. But nope, Denver knew Shanahan wanted to give Jimmy G. a chance to sling which was the reason why they pretty much played with a Umbrella coverage. No doubt if the game went on Shanahan would've adjusted to that.

You're right about Preseason though. lol

The best commentary of the night by Booger and Tessitore was their piece near the end of the broadcast about how preseason results get more overblown than any other part of the year.

Other than that, I don't like them.

Me too. Jimmy looked worried about the knee for sure. Not following through. Needs to play with a live pass rush. Hope he plays 3 quarters in kc.

I think atleast play a half. Only way to get over being scared of the ACL injury is to play and get knocked to the ground where it all happened and get up and find out that everything is fine.

O line is s**t

Mike Person is day to day. Probably won't play at KC either. Richburg is questionable for Week 1 just like Nick Bosa

Tomlinson played tonight, IIRC.

Person has a minor foot issue. Hopefully he's back for KC.

Richburg - hoping we get an official update this week, one way or another. Lynch said something the other day as this upcoming week having some notable benchmarks for his rehab progress.
preseason Win/loss records doesn't correlate to regular season....

BUT...

at least your 1st stringers need to look the part. Other 1st string QBs during preseason do look like they belong if they play(i.e. Cousins or Dak). They show case their talents for 1 or 2 drives.
Jimmy Pornstar G looks more rattled than Bethard or Mullens.

He honestly has more than two weeks. They need to see him play and get experience one way or another, so even if he struggles in the regular season they'll have a long leash. How he responds to any struggles is what will be more important in the long run. Fans should be prepared for some ups and downs. That's what we should have got last year, but the timeline got screwed with his ACL injury.

Fire your weed guy.

Bovada still has Jimmy G over/under 4000 yards regular season, -115 odds.

If the haters are that confident, they should throw some money at that and post pictures. Before it adjusts after this game.

Of course the fact that Cousins and Dak have played over a hundred games to Jimmy's less than a dozen may have something to do with that.

The gap between the SF OL 1s vs Denver's 1 defense was huge and it impacted everything that happened. Injuries are the main culprit.
I watched his INT again after seeing Kyle talk about it...had he been given a second to throw it, likely would have resulted in a positive play. It was intended for Breida, but he had Chubb in his face and threw it short. Oh well
My opinion is solidifying that Jimmy G. not a cerebral QB. It is becoming more clear that he will just chuck a ball into a crowd multiple times per game. If he's healthy he probably gets away with it and makes more good plays than bad. But when he's tentative and not putting his body into his throws like tonight, those questionable decisions are going to be exposed. Putting tonight's performance in context of many bad reports out of training camp and its seems like Garoppolo needs more time to heal from his injury and regain his confidence. Not an easy call, but team would probably play better with Mullens under center for the first half of the year.

Breida burned his man too, would've been huge gain or TD
Jimmy G, 1-0 [UNDEFEATED] in his first start since ACL injury.
