If he's healthy he probably gets away with it and makes more good plays than bad. But when he's tentative and not putting his body into his throws like tonight, those questionable decisions are going to be exposed. Putting tonight's performance in context of many bad reports out of training camp and its seems like Garoppolo needs more time to heal from his injury and regain his confidence. Not an easy call, but team would probably play better with Mullens under center for the first half of the year.

I would be fine with Mullens taking over for the whole year and we cut Jimmy G next year and make Mullens the full time starter for a much cheaper price.

He has to really stink it up for them to replace him with Mullens. But, this is what we're going to see of Jimmy at least for the better part of the season. He has to get better or they're going to pull him.

Best joke I've read in years. Thanks for that, guys.

Agreed. Half a dozen snaps in a preseason immediately after returning from injury and The Faithful want to cut him. SMDH.

And then when he goes 9/19 with a pick and 143 yards in game one is everyone going to say "iTz gAmE oNe yOu LoZErZ! ReEELaX!"

Anyway I'm holding out hope. I still have faith but if s**t goes sideways we need to move on to nick real quick.

What has Nick done that gives you faith that he's better than Jimmy? Cuz he was in beating up on the Denver "depth"?

I don't think he's better or worse than Jimmy. All I'm saying is with Jimmy...it's been average at best. Even last year his sole win against the Lions was nearly negated with a dropped pick 6. I really hope he pans out. He just needs to be more consistent and play with confidence.

How did Jimmy play vs KC?

Jimmy is under a lot of pressure to repeat how he played in '17. Hope he doesn't crumble under the pressure.
People are way too critical of jimmy g after he just played his first game since his acl injury. Mind you George kittle wasn't playing richburg didn't play. Broncos have the best pass rushing duo in the nfl and people expected jimmy g to ball after he was playing his first game coming from an acl injury

Exactly.
Here Jimmy, welcome back to action, now go out and show us something while Chubb and Von are slapping the Jesus out of these Lowe's flooring salesman we're putting up front to protect you.

So many heartless bast**ds here. Quite entertaining actually.

Mullen has one advantage over Jimmy. He has enough mobility to avoid the rush and since the interior offensive line is questionable, it's important. Jimmy, after his injury, is a siting duck.

Mullens isn't more mobile, if anything they are the same, or Jimmy is more mobile

Everyone needs to chill out, sure it was ugly, but don't forget we were playing totally vanilla, against a good defence with a smart play caller who we had just shown our vanilla offense to for two days.

Yep. Von Miller and Chubb is going to turn pass offenses into spaghetti. Kyle has a pass offense. Best thing to do is run against these guys, but given Jimmy only was going to get 6-ish reps, they were going after Jimmy. I"m not concerned. He'll be fine. Just rusty, but he got hit on that leg and got up - no PSTD - so next game he'll probably get a half, Mullens a half, and hope to god we get some OLine help with a possible BeatHard trade to Fangio.
