If this had been practice he would have had 6 INTs, amirite?

Yes

I predicted he would get 8 attempts passing and he had 6. I see it more as Shanahan protecting his QB, the O-line was also suppose to help out too. I have no doubt that if this was a real game, he would've got into more of a rhythm as the game went on.

He had a similar bad start against Houston when he first got here. The difference is that he had the remaining 3 quarters to get back in rhythm and he ended up playing well and winning the game for us.

The overreaction over 6 passes is ridiculous, but unfortunately predictable. We all know from watching the preseason year after year that it doesn't really mean much, and yet every year fans overreact to what they see in the preseason.

Well...it would feel a lot better if he completed 1 for 5yds at least...despite it being pre-season. I'm desperate for him to be a real franchise QB...you know with all the winning and stats and stuff...
Ugh...pre-season is such a tease

And then when he goes 9/19 with a pick and 143 yards in game one is everyone going to say "iTz gAmE oNe yOu LoZErZ! ReEELaX!"

Anyway I'm holding out hope. I still have faith but if s**t goes sideways we need to move on to nick real quick.

Had flashes of that preseason game vs Saints 2011 Harbaugh first year when Alex smith stunk it up and oline was terrible...

Two passes tipped on top of it.

Total overreaction. Sure I wish he went 10/10 150 yards and 2 TDS in two drives but it is what it is.

2 starters on OL out. Denver has a great pass rush.
Denver D familiar with our offense and had familiarity on our guys from the joint practice.
Jimmy's first game back from injury.
Vanilla playcalling without easy "confidence builder" calls.

Maybe he's not going to be an All Pro right out of the gate and there will be some rust showing but he'll be fine.

I don't believe that Jimmy showed what he did in 2017 and suddenly turns into a bum.

That pass was thrown way above his head...at 5'7, Breida is only half an inch taller than Kyler Murray

You should brace yourself for at least one game like this in the regular season. Even the greatest QBs of all time have these games, let alone young QBs that need to get more regular season experience.

Don't deify the guy, but no need to wring the hands so hard as some have tonight, either.

What has Nick done that gives you faith that he's better than Jimmy? Cuz he was in beating up on the Denver "depth"?
Throw the statline out the window. I agree who cares. He just didn't look comfortable, played scared. You can say that's justified but that's still what it was. I'm sure he will look better vs KC
I'm just hoping he shows good plays to justify some of his bad plays. the 2017 hope is fading.

Me too. Jimmy looked worried about the knee for sure. Not following through. Needs to play with a live pass rush. Hope he plays 3 quarters in kc.

Yes ..we Niner fans are a traumatized bunch...every time it looks like we got ourselves a champ QB and we go and buy their jersey only to have it blow up in our face and leave us with these useless jerseys with their useless names and useless numbers
