Those "Stretch Cut Back" plays would be perfect for his speed and power...
He's very similar to gore. He'll be fine here. Marvin has it right, he just needs to develop the kind of vision Frank has.
That's not very likely going to happen.

He need to learn patience he runs full blow every time. Needs to let things set up in front of him then accelerate through the hole not just be a battering ram.

I have to agree with this.

hes actually the RB that we need to compliment gore, Hyde rarely loses yardage.
We dont need anymore dancers at the line of scrimmage

Hyde will develop someday? Um.. I dunno. I think, he is same played his college and same playing his level. He need focus to play and yourself style what u do.

slow developing plays stringing it out isn't going to be good for him right now until he learns the patience necessary
however until that time there's no reason he shouldn't be in there to pound the rock. he's not a change of pace back like in the past, he's a big bruising back who delivers punishment
I agree. It would have been nice to see Hyde get one carry outside to the left like frank was getting just to see if he could have taken it to the house.

but you can learn patience, which is where vision comes from.
The guy is a rookie, he still has a few years before he will hit his peak.
edit: "which allows for vision" would probably be a more accurate way of saying that.

agreed somewhat. Sure teaching patience so as to allow the play to develop can be taught to some extent and I can see how that goes hand in hand with vision. However, imho vision is more intrinsic, a finger print you might say. For example, we have Q, crabs, and sj and they can run the same routes but each one will run those routes a bit different than the other with the same goal of getting open.
Just my 2 cents

Yes it was
What kinda funny is I'm pretty sure that's an illegal run as of a year or two ago because he led with the crown. Sick run regardless.

The more I watch Hyde plays, I really think he's closer to Beastmode type of runner, than Gore's style..
The guy will learn for sure, right now, he's playing thru instinct, tho it's very positive at the moment, I think that in the long run, and for his own career, he needs to learn that gaining 5 to 7 yards w/o going full speed is ok..
he also needs to learn to just run behind the offensive line as he is gaining positive yardage..
One thing he needs to keep in mind is that in the NFL, all defenders can run and have that lateral speed that can chase you from sideline to sideline.
as far as those "strech plays", I just fully believe that it wont be so bad if we put some of those plays for Hyde because he's got that cut back ability... Plus, if you look at the TOP 4 Quarterbacks (Manning, Brady, Rogers & Brees) they all have those plays that also set up a play action fake when they need to go deep down the middle..
Even Seattle uses that stretch play..

Yes he's way closer to beast mode than gore but we have to call successful plays that the line knows how to block.
they know how to block option give him the ball on them he bursts through the hole. instruct kap to hand it every time on the option. now teams are strictly playing him to keep the ball the lane is always there for hyde. hopefully they look at it on film.
also the quick hitting blocks where the hole opens up immediately is perfect for him. he averaged 4 yards a carry against a stout chiefs defense and could've broken 2 of those for huge 40+ yard gains
keep feeding him

He doesn't have beast mode's agility...Very few really do. Hyde is a good power runner with a strong burst but he needs more work before you can consider him Gore's successor

watch some of his Ohio State highlights.. the guy has a knack for "cut backs".. in my opinion, I think he'll be good on those stretch plays that Edgerin and Terrell Davis made famous for..

This guy sucks. We should cut him.
