I'm now convinced more than ever he should be the guy.

LOL right John Middlekauff

Remember when Middlekauff had sources telling him that Kyle was immature in his HC interview and wanted to bring in Mike Shanahan?

Also he thought Riddick was a top candidate for GM.

His pocket awareness and ability to slip and step up in the pocket is amazing considering he only started 13 games.

The best part is he doesn't have to start now. Give him a year. Hell, give him 2 to learn his footwork, dropping back from center, reading blitzes.

Put him and Shanahan in the same room and on the practice field for a year or two and the sky is the limit.

I was going to reply to this one but man you've drank the coolaid....

Yeah we know, you guys are on completely opposite sides of the spectrum when it comes to Trubisky.

How many times did you see him avoid the rush with subtle movements in the pocket? Or drop dimes under pressure. Or make perfect throws?

All you need to do is watch Colin Kaepernick and see that Trubisky does NOTHING the same.
After watching some of his college vids, this kid is starting to grow on me. I wont mind if the team drafts him at #2.

1-3 record to close his season tells me teams finally had enough film on the guy to pick apart his game. I saw a lot of desperate heaves under pressure at the beginning of his season that worked out because the system he plays in creates windows that are huge in college ball.

I'll give him the credit that he led a what was a failed comeback but he also put his team into that situation of needing that comeback with his erratic play under pressure for most of that game.

NFL is going to pick him apart because the pressure is more intense and the throwing windows are even smaller. He's not only going to have to learn a timing/rhythm based system, how to take snaps under center, call plays in the huddle but also read defenses in the NFL all while completely rebuilding his sloppy mechanics. These are not the fallacies of a #2 overall pick but of a project in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I never once said to take him at #2. Just said I liked him

Well he does seem to have sources. But there is also a reason he is pod-casting right now instead of having a radio show.

I think Thomas is the pick and team is prepared to attempt to trade if necessary to get Kizer

Agreed hate the kizer stuff...would rather go all in on a qb in 2018

While this is a good point about Trubisky's ability to adapt to defense adjustments, I also think losing Mack Hollins had a big impact. I was listening to an interview with Ryan Switzer and he said that when Hollins went down, Switzer got a LOT more bracket coverage.

But, that is a big part of the reason Id like to see them target WR. A new QB (Cousins or a rookie) needs targets.

Yeah, would rather trade for Mahomes.
