I was really impressed. That last drive was fantastic. He looks like the gunslinger Shanahan wants. He looks like Cousins but with a stronger arm..

He made some mistakes but coach him up and I think he will be an All-pro.

Did you watch the game or just highlights? He was not poised that whole game at all, two horrible INTs one that cost them the game...He doesn't look like Cousins IMO, he's footwork isn't close to his.

I like Mitchell out of all the QBs in this draft but he's not even close to NFL ready...he needs to sit and learn and really needs to work on his mechanics overall. In just about any other draft he'd be a 2nd rd pick that would be allowed time to learn. I hope he goes to a team that already has a starter so he can get the teaching he needs.

In agree he isnt ready. I said as much.

No chance he'd be a 2nd round pick.

Let him sit and learn for a year or two behind Hoyer.

Your not drafting a QB at two to let them sit for a yr or two...every coaching staff tries to pull that and it never happens. boy you sure change you mind on what player to draft at the top a lot lol...Thomas, Williams, Adams, now Mitchell

dang dude

Fair enough
None of the QBs in this class are day 1 starters. If any are it would be a guy like Nate Peterman...but his ceiling is way lower than all the other guys.

I think best thing for us is to do in regards to QB is wait til next year. Whether it's Cousins or if we wind up with a top 10 pick you'd have to think one of Donald, Rosen or Allen should be within reach.

Agreed I'm not drafting a qb in the top two rds

They are showing a lot of love to Kizer

Could very well be smoke screens looking for a trade down...they could also be looking at the 2nd rd. I mean I'll trust Kyle on evaluating the QB position but IMHO I don't see these guys being worth a top 34 pick, especially with all the other talent at other positions.
If Cousins wasn't a possibility I'd take Mitchell. Smart, accurate, athletic I could live with him being a project. We're not winning this year anyways. Obviously Shanny wants Cousins though and who can blame him?

I wouldn't go that far but I do think we're better off waiting til next year.

Honestly I wouldn't say the guys I mentioned would be day 1 starters either...at least it may be best to not have them be day 1 starters. I trust whomever we go with at QB whether through the draft or free agency Shanahan believes can be a good player.

It certainly seems like on paper we're eyeing Cousins but I'd be ok with a QB at #2 because it would tell me Kyle feels strong about their ability but I'd actually prefer we sit these guys for a year and make sure they get his offense down pat and work on any of their deficiencies rather than rush them out there just because they're an early pick.

Long story short, draft Solomon Thomas this year then sign Cousins in free agency and draft the top QB on the board if we have a chance at one of the guys I mentioned before :)

Draft RB- Christian McCaffery in round 1
Trade up for OLB- Tak McKinley in round 1
Grab DT- Caleb Brantley in round 2
Grab TE - Adam Shaheen on round 3
Grab OLB- Elijah Lee in round 4
Grab QB- Jerod Evans in round 4

Call it a day

Who's moving up? No WR after you were on that bandwagon damn dude.

this. I don't see anyone trading up unless they're in love with a qb, which probably won't happen.

See IMO if you're drafting a QB in the top 34 picks that means that's you guy going forward....I just feel there's much better options next yr like Kirk/Jimmy G plus about 4 QBs that look to be higher quality prospects then the top end guys this yr. I know it's tough to sit and wait and no one knows what will happen next yr but the options overall seem better.

If you had only Deshone Kizer from last season and trivially this season, would you still rank kizer behind? Kizer was trubisky last season and we saw what can happen when a second season starts.

So I was listening to John Middlekauff on KNBR yesterday and he was the first guy to hear not sold on Thomas as a blue chip prospect. Went as far as to call him a reach at 2.

I'm now convinced more than ever he should be the guy.
