Rams trade 1st round pick to Patriots for Brandin Cooks

I mean, there's no way we should be excited. It's not like our recently signed franchise QB went undefeated since starting or that we are practically gaining a starting WR like it's a FA signing or that we still have the draft or that we have the best offensive mind in the league running the show or that we acquired the best FA center available or that Mckinnon is going to go absolutely BONKERS this year or that IF healthy Sherman will bring that attitude and streak to the defense we've been desperately needing.

Screw it, I'm done with this team

Sorry, but if Shanahan and Lynch didn't acquire at least five all-pros to go with what we already had, then they failed and they're wasting all that money they gave Jimmy G. Because, you see, the winner of the off-season always wins the Super Bowl, right?

Not worried at all. No homer. Elite franchise QB trumps anything the Rams do. I think we still win the division this year as long as we heavily upgrade the D during the draft.
This is the kind of blindness we need to avoid. You guys seriously can't sit here and think Jimmy is super man. That doesnt work out for teams. Rams are a better team right now. hands down

You people are really out of your minds lmao. This reminds me of arguments i get into with my GF then she takes it all the way over to left field. This post was just dumb

This. Rams are division champs and likely will be again. Jimmy will send this franchise skyrocketing, but to think we're gonna just suddenly pass the Rams because of that is silly. They ALSO have a franchise QB.....and Gurley.......and Cooks........and Donald........and Suh.......and Peters......and Talib.....

And no linebackers to stop Mcinnion, Celleck or Kittle across the middle.

Sorry not everyone is a "realist" like you.

He's a closet Rams fan....
Rams are a better overall team, we have the better qb. It's a qb league. I still like our chances but don't kid yourself if Jimmy got hurt we're a 4 win team. Like Philly if Goff got hurt St Louis could still win the division.

Really? With Sean Mannion as the starter?

Pats won this trade.

Cooks has been traded by two very smart teams in back to back years. While also playing both for HOF QBs.

Without Jimmy, 4 wins would be about right and probably on the high side.

Without Goff, the Mannion-led Rams wouldn't be much better and probably wouldn't win the division either.

BTW, Cooks isn't that good IMO and I'm glad they wasted a 1st on him. If he leaves for FA next year this will be so beautiful.

You can win games leaning on d and a run game. Like Watkins last year for them Cooks doesn't have to do anything but stretch the field. He'll do that. Late 1st have about a 30% hit rate anyways. We'll see of this works for them but they're definitely playing for now.

They're building to compete for next year and few after that for sure. That's the best you can hope for as a GM.

I watched plenty of Cooks in NO and with the Pats. The Sammy comparison for them is probably about right. He'll likely have a mediocre impact.

I don't see the Rams going anywhere without Goff or Gurley. The defense is good, but beatable. Jimmy and Wilson can put up points on them. The Rams defense looks good on paper and should definitely be tough, but I wouldn't put them in the Hag's class anytime soon. They have some big holes at LB.
