This. Rams are division champs and likely will be again. Jimmy will send this franchise skyrocketing, but to think we're gonna just suddenly pass the Rams because of that is silly. They ALSO have a franchise QB.....and Gurley.......and Cooks........and Donald........and Suh.......and Peters......and Talib.....

I gotta agree with you guys, some people here are unreal. The Rams just had one of the greatest offseasons ever with those additions, no way around that or denying it. Yes we have Jimmy, but football is a team game and they have a roster full of all pro/pro bowl talent. How many of those do we have?

Yeah its tough to admit but they did a good job of acquiring talent for the present. But it's clear they are super bowl or bust, a lot of expectations mounting up for Goff, who is the key to all of this. At least they can figure out if he is the guy or not so they can decide whether he deserves that qb1 money.

We have Jimmy, McKinnon, Garcon, Goodwin, Buckner, Foster, Tartt, Sherman. Arguably a better Oline and more depth.

It's not like we are short of star players.

That is great and all, but we still don't stack up to what the Rams have. We'll be right there for a wild card spot, but I don't think we touch the Rams for the NFC West.

The Jets just trade 3 2nds to move 3 spots. According to the trade chart they lost by like 2000 points. That chart doesnt mean anything when trading for first rounders

Wrong

#3 = 2200

For

#6 = 1600
#37 = 530
#49 = 410
2019 2nd = 3rd round value 400 points

Total = 2940

Difference is 740 points which is equal to a late first. And when there are three or four legit top 10 QB's in this draft that's the price that teams need to pay to move up.

Teams don't all use the same value chart.

I was thinking they'd go LB in the 1st round. No longer an issue. Regardless of how good they believe their secondary might be, teams are going to light them up in the intermeduate areas.

BRB...running a 3-4 with discount store LBs.
Intermediate areas are where Jimmy owns you... We got this
With the Patriots gaining more capital will they trade up to #9 with the Pats? My thinking is did they have a handshake deal with the 49ers after giving up Jimmy G for a second rounder.

And who would they get at #9, they would most likely be out of reach of the top QB's, pass rushers and O-lineman that are worthy of the pick.
To me, Goff is still unproven.
Teams have tape on him now under the new system.
I am not ready to crown him yet. To me he does not have the tools Jimmy has.
I would not be shocked to see him struggle this year.

All this you said can also be applied to jimmy. And the teams have tape on him is not a real thing. Teams had tape on him last year too. What matters is the scheme and making the throws. Same with jimmy g.
Can't buy a championship and a team so we shall see in the long run. Not scared of the Rams.

This is where they could be screwing themselves. I agree that they, outside of league worst linebackers, have amazing talent on paper. Luckily this ain't Madden. A LOT of egos are gonna have to be put on check for them to succeed. I see us building sustainable success while they are blowing their load for a short window. I also find it strange they went after Suh to play a position he's never played before in a 3-4. Suh doesn't strike me as the type to sacrifice personal stats to do the dirty work of a 3-4 lineman.

With Tom Brady, maybe … with Jared Goff, not so much.

Yeah that's foolish. He's only going to get better under McVay.

So you're saying that Goff/McVay, is better than Garoppolo/Shanahan ?
Because from where I sit, and what I witnessed last season, I'd put my money on the Niners,
for The LONG HAUL !

smh Where did I even mention Garoppolo/Shanahan? I said Goff will only get better under McVay.

You didn't … therefore after re-reading my post(s) in this thread, I owe you an apology

In all fairness, I should have answered you with the same/similar reply [post #193] that I did to SFrush:
"And Jimmy, won't be better under Shanny" ???
Which might have elicited a different response from you

So although there is no guarantee that Goff, or Garaoppolo will get better under their respective
coaches … my response to you, was more reactionary, than it was properly thought out.

Once again, My Badd …

Dream team, what could possibly go wrong....
I have been saying it all along we need to let the rebuilding process take it's course.

Not worried at all. No homer. Elite franchise QB trumps anything the Rams do. I think we still win the division this year as long as we heavily upgrade the D during the draft.

Yes you are totally right, this is the blindness that us the fans need to avoid. Look how detrimental it will be to the team if us the FANS set high expectations for the PLAYERS and we aren't even on the field.

I mean, there's no way we should be excited. It's not like our recently signed franchise QB went undefeated since starting or that we are practically gaining a starting WR like it's a FA signing or that we still have the draft or that we have the best offensive mind in the league running the show or that we acquired the best FA center available or that Mckinnon is going to go absolutely BONKERS this year or that IF healthy Sherman will bring that attitude and streak to the defense we've been desperately needing.

Screw it, I'm done with this team
