Rams trade 1st round pick to Patriots for Brandin Cooks

on siriusxm NFL network Pat Kirwan made a great point on why the Rams are doing what they're doing....they moved the franchise and are building a massive Stadium. They're currently trying to sell the SSLs ,premier club seats, VIP seats etc.

year 1 they were playing in half empty stadiums, Stan Kroenke is a business man and wants those tickets sold before the $2.6 billion stadium is finished. What better way to get those tickets sold then bring in a bunch of big names.

Y'all need to realize that these moves could easily bite them in the ass. It's one thing if the players don't pan out but to give away all that draft capital to make these deals for players on their last year, it's expensive and will keep them from adding cheap talent. Sure it could send them to the super bowl but it could easily send their future in the s**tter

Agreed. Lots of big personalities to manage all at once for such a young head coach. Could implode in a hurry!

Did the Rams win the Super Bowl yet?? With all these moves, you'd figured they would have just cancelled the regular season and handed them the trophy by now

Feels like that year Philly tried to put together the dream team with Vick then flopped. You never know how those pieces mesh.

Exactly. How will the roster like all these big egos walking in the locker room? How will players react when you move veterans off the roster and send your draft picks away for flashy names? This isn't madden, s**t doesn't work like that. Rams defense was terrible last year, how much will these moves actually improve that? How well can the d-line and outside CBs do when they don't have a LB core? How much production will they get from Cooks? Probably the same amount of touchdowns, maybe less than Watkins, albeit Cooks will have more yards. Those yards don't necessarily mean the offense itself will be more productive. People need to chill out, you don't buy championships in the NFL, this isn't the NBA. Long term visions have a better chance of success, I see the Rams being short sighted here and it's risky.

Belichick certainly threw a monkey wrench in an already complicated quarterback market. With him on the move, teams like the Broncos and Giants and Browns, who are considering holding auctions for their top five picks, may be in even more of a position of power now, with more teams in the market to move up for a passer.

Not worried at all. No homer. Elite franchise QB trumps anything the Rams do. I think we still win the division this year as long as we heavily upgrade the D during the draft.

Yes you are totally right, this is the blindness that us the fans need to avoid. Look how detrimental it will be to the team if us the FANS set high expectations for the PLAYERS and we aren't even on the field.

I mean, there's no way we should be excited. It's not like our recently signed franchise QB went undefeated since starting or that we are practically gaining a starting WR like it's a FA signing or that we still have the draft or that we have the best offensive mind in the league running the show or that we acquired the best FA center available or that Mckinnon is going to go absolutely BONKERS this year or that IF healthy Sherman will bring that attitude and streak to the defense we've been desperately needing.
