Rams trade 1st round pick to Patriots for Brandin Cooks

Jimmy >>>>>>>>>>> any of the moves the Rams make.

Not worried at all. No homer. Elite franchise QB trumps anything the Rams do. I think we still win the division this year as long as we heavily upgrade the D during the draft.

The Jets just trade 3 2nds to move 3 spots. According to the trade chart they lost by like 2000 points. That chart doesnt mean anything when trading for first rounders

The chart goes out the window when QBs are involved, always has but otherwise teams tend to stay within that points value ballpark for the most part.

This is the kind of blindness we need to avoid. You guys seriously can't sit here and think Jimmy is super man. That doesnt work out for teams. Rams are a better team right now. hands down

I agree, but we cant lose sight that we are only off season two into a total roster overhaul and FO and culture rebuild.

Getting our Franchise QB cannot be understated, and we have added some nice pieces in FA, although i have been outspoken about Jet, he is a nice piece to have, and we upgraded at CB, and got a stud at C, and maybe a sleeper LEO in godblessyou.

I would love to add ODB. However, i dont personally think this particular move was that great of a value move by the Rams.

on paper, they are the division favorites, and should be, no doubt. They were not a total roster gut and rebuild, instead they were similar to the 49ers were when harbs came in. Cant really compare the two situations. Once they move around some roster space, and make some cuts, i expect them to address LB next.

I can understand why some posters more on your side get frustrated as well, because there is a tendency around here to downplay moves by other teams, down play potential moves by our team or downright dismiss them, but then the instant potential moves become reality, they are hyped up and over exaggerated to no end. gotta take the good with the bad around here man.

The good news is, we have great and highly educated fans on both sides of the spectrum around here. Just gotta avoid the trolls and keep it civil.

With Tom Brady, maybe … with Jared Goff, not so much.

Yeah that's foolish. He's only going to get better under McVay.

So you're saying that Goff/McVay, is better than Garoppolo/Shanahan ?
Because from where I sit, and what I witnessed last season, I'd put my money on the Niners,
for The LONG HAUL !

smh Where did I even mention Garoppolo/Shanahan? I said Goff will only get better under McVay.
I think a pass rusher at 23 would have done more for their win/loss column, both this year and in future years, than Brandon Cooks will
Cooks is a good player, I know he was a huge draft crush in this forum, and he will fill the role that goodwin does in this offense. I don't think he will put up monster number but he will be valuable in stretching the field on play action for them.

That said, we have a player on a much cheaper contract that does the same thing

What else are fans suppose to think when Jimmy G. had 5 straight wins with the same roster that started 1-9? Now the roster will be even better even with the 4 additions they added thru free agency. Let's also not forget the 49ers getting Garcon back will be huge!!! Sure the Rams got Talib and Peters but can they cover all of the receivers in Garcon, Goodwin, Taylor and Bourne? You know Jimmy G. spreads the ball around like a top 5 QB. I ain't scared of the Rams one bit and I bet Jimmy G. ain't either, sure they got Suh, but they also loss Robert Quinn which should be a huge blow to their pass rush. Oh and if you manage to cover the receivers, you gotta deal with Celek, Kittle and McKinnon outta the backfield, sure they're not household names but they will move the chains on you!!!
Why do people keep bringing up us vs. rams? We only play them twice. I have no doubt we will sweep them but the thing is they play 14 other games and not everyone they play against has Jimmy G and our other weapons

What do you mean we need to avoid? Lol. We aren't playing the game and we are allowed to believe our players will play well.

Fine. They might be the better team right now, but how long wil they be? A couple of years at most.

Wrong

#3 = 2200

For

#6 = 1600
#37 = 530
#49 = 410
2019 2nd = 3rd round value 400 points

Total = 2940

Difference is 740 points which is equal to a late first. And when there are three or four legit top 10 QB's in this draft that's the price that teams need to pay to move up.

I don't think they are better.

They have glaring weaknesses at multiple positions. They have literally no-one at LB and when you run a 3-4 that's a slight problem. They have no TE. No SS. Holes all over that roster and no draft picks to fill them. They are 5 million over the cap right now so someone else will have to go. They have no depth and injuries happen. Im not buying the hype at all.

Name one position on our team where we have backup level starters.

This. Rams are division champs and likely will be again. Jimmy will send this franchise skyrocketing, but to think we're gonna just suddenly pass the Rams because of that is silly. They ALSO have a franchise QB.....and Gurley.......and Cooks........and Donald........and Suh.......and Peters......and Talib.....

I gotta agree with you guys, some people here are unreal. The Rams just had one of the greatest offseasons ever with those additions, no way around that or denying it. Yes we have Jimmy, but football is a team game and they have a roster full of all pro/pro bowl talent. How many of those do we have?
