Thank you! Earl Campbell? The guy who probably ran a 4.4 and Patrick Willis would have trouble tackling one on one? Basically a cross between a bull dozer and a top fuel dragster. I definitely could make that comparison after 4 preseason games based on Dixon's 4.5 YPC.

I agree with this. I think he's a bit more elusive in the open field than Barlow but the dancing in the backfield has got to stop.

Who said he was the "next great ________?" Seemed to me like he was comparing Dixon's running style to Campbell's. It doesn't matter if you saw it in preseason or not, it's a running style that will be the same every time you see him. If the OP was talking about success, then we can't compare him to any RB until we see enough of him in regular season play. That's not the case.

I posted that earlier too. Too much dancing in the backfield before he hits the hole.

Some serious reading comprehension problems going on in this thread, even from some vested vets.

There is no running back currently in the NFL or in the past that has ever compared to Barry Sanders. No one. Not ever. The guy was unique. Made something out of nothing more often than anyone. He was simply the best runner ever......period.

Dixon looks talented...and at this stage of his career that is all we can say.
