Pacquiao vs. Marquez (November 12, 2011)

Can't argue with that, both fought amazingly

Yep, he's fighting Timothy the head next.

PLEASE NO!!! He'd just pound Bradley for 12 LONG and uneventful rounds and get booed again. Bradley got a 40 year old washed up fighter who couldn't take a body punch. When he can fight someone who has REAL talent, then maybe he should get a chance against a top fighter. I'd love to see him fight Khan/Berto at some point, hell even a Clottey match before he's even allowed to sit @ the adult table for a premiere fight.
Marquez was ineffective. He simply couldn't finish. Became hard to watch him in the final few rounds.

Just because he did better than many thought he would does not mean he won. He lost. He faded. Weak punches aren't convincing.

Not true, Manny stepped it up after losing 5 straight round (could have been 6 if you gave round 2 to JMM for his 45 seconds of strong boxing) and fought aggressively, like he should've throughout the fight. Round 11 could've gone to JMM, no way he faded in that round, he was matching manny punch-for-punch that round

I don't know why people are saying pacman had the cleaner shots. Look at the fight again. Just because they showed the replays of his punches and not Marquez it doesn't mean he threw the better punches.

What did you watch? All the replays I saw were JMM...wait, were the replays different between the UK and US coverages? I watched the UK stream so could've been different replays

Yeah, in the HBO replays they only had pacman replays with maybe one of marquez

Some people are blind. HBO had plenty of Marquez replays.

lol, i exaggerated but it was extremely obvious that most of the replays were for pacman even when marquez landed the better punches.

This also gave me a laugh.
"It would be difficult to decide. Maybe I retire, maybe I don't," Marquez said. "It is so hard when you're fighting against a rival and also against the three judges."

I don't agree. But even if I did... that's a lot of "should've" and "could've" for a guy who wanted to be a champion.

Marquez failed to prove he was the undisputed winner. That's what guys who want to take the belt have to do. Incumbent champions don't have that burden. Marquez was outclassed from the 8th-12th. Marquez's footwork went from superb, to average to atrocious. This left him with embarrassingly weak punches, which never really threatened Manny.

Manny unloaded when he connected. That's why he rightfully earned this victory. Marquez put forth a better than expected effort. Just not a winning effort.

Quick question: Do you think if the fight was brought down to 140 catchweight that Matquez wouldn't had gotten tired by the last few rounds? A buddy of mine was yelling that Marquez would've won @ a lighter weight b/c his endurance would've been higher with less body mass, so curious in your opinion since you say Marquez died out in the end.
Wow, close fight. I thought it was going to be another draw lol. I hate to say it but I think Pacquiao would lose to Mayweather.

Here's the compubox results.

Maybe I need my eyes checked, but Marquez's post-fight interview was in the nude

Agreed! Couldn't have said it better myself.
I had Marquez winning the fight again! In reality though Marquez needed to pretty much destroy Pacquiao to avoid controversy. Any ways congrats to Pacquiao, and every Pacquiao fan and media were wrong......Marquez did not get destroyed, killed, knocked out. He matched him pretty much punch for punch the entire fight. Go Niners.

No counter puncher will out work or out score Manny. You want what he's got stop counter punching and step up.
