Through three games, Purdy has completed a career-high 72.3 percent of his passes for 789 yards, nine touchdowns, one interception, and an NFL-leading 133.1 passer rating. He also has a rushing touchdown.
Purdy is the only quarterback with multiple touchdown passes and a passer rating of at least 100 in each of the first three weeks of the season.
In Week 2, Purdy became the first player in NFL history to complete at least 90 percent of his pass attempts (90.9 percent, 20 of 22), pass for at least 285 yards (287), throw two touchdowns, and score a rushing touchdown in the same game.
This is Purdy's first career Player of the Month award. He joins Pro Football Hall of Famers Steve Young (six-time winner) and Joe Montana (November 1989), as well as Jeff Garcia (November 2001), as the only 49ers quarterbacks to earn the honor.
Purdy is the second former Iowa State player to win an Offensive Player of the Month award, joining David Archer (September 1986).
