the #32 pick and Gore would not be nearly enough to get the #1 overall pick.

exactly, why would INDY take a potentially late 1st rd pick, and just an injury prone RB for the 1st pick?

They have Addai, Delone Carter under contract, plus that RB they drafted in the 1st back in i think 09.

If anything It would take one of our stars or stars in the making, plus a 1st and possibly another high draft pick to get to 1 and get Luck.

aint worth an actual bullet, maybe a bee bee gun shell.
Ummm idk...
Norris, Edwards, and M. Williams are likely to be gone.

I could also see them cutting Spencer, Rachal, and possibly letting Goldson walk.
Tarell Brown stays. Spencer may bring a late round pick in trade.

Rachal
Norris
Brock
Edwards
M. Williams..............gone!
Alex isn't going anywhere, If he didn't go last year, he sure in hell won't go this year. He LOVES JH and will finally have a decient offensive system for more than one year plus a good coach. Even if he gets beat out in TC he'll still want to fight to get his job back rather than start that system merry-go-round again
The "Alex Smith problem" will be 100% gone when we upgrade the O-Line and Recieving Corps. If we let Edwards walk and manage to get Vincent Jackson, then we draft Kendall Wright we might have something nice. V. Jackson, Kendall Wright, K.Williams, Crabtree, and Morgan. With Ginn focusing on KR/PR.

Good luck finding the sucker that would give up that much for him
Can we please stop discussing letting Ginn walk. Yeah hes sucked as a WR since the trade which is probably why they restructured his contract to pay him as a return specialist. The niners have not had a return man as good as Ginn in a long time. Having to no longer crap my pants every time the niners punt return unit goes on the field like in '09 is well worth keeping him around for.

Indy's LB corp is weak. Pat Angerer is in his second year as an OLB and leads the league in tackles but that is mostly due to the fact Indy is on defense most of the time. The rest are either old or young but not very good. The Colts would love to have NaVorro Bowman at MLB behind their 4 man DL. Package him with the #1 this year and next PLUS Bowman and you MIGHT make a deal. The Colts could still get a QB in the late first round, and if Peyton is able to come back and play next year, he could mentor the new guy.

Having just said that, I don't think I would make that deal if I were the Colts. I would also want the 49ers 2nd round pick this year or maybe Ray McDonald. Freeney and Mathis are getting old.

His problem is he wants to be paid like a top five safety (which is ludicrous). Braylon is likely gone too. Couldn't stay healthy, and probably won't want to sign another $1 million dollar deal knowing he could get more elsewhere. But whatever happens, much like this year, I expect any departures to have minimal impact since all of our core players are already locked up. And I'd suspect that a few are going to be extended sooner than later.

I don't disagree that Edwards may be gone, but I don't think he has much value based on his past off-field issues combined with his lack of production the last two years. He might be willing to re-sign for a minimal plus a big incentive package, including a roster bonus and things like 80 catches, 1,000 yards, Pro Bowl achievement.

It looks more and more like he will only have four or five games worth of work to show for this season and that is not going to make him a much sought after player in FA.

So, Bowman plus this years first plus next years? No way am I pulling the trigger on that one. Bowman has vast potential.

Not arguing that it may be value. But no way.

Alex Smith.

I know, a lot are going to call this hateing or whatever; but, some stupid team (Redskins) will probably offer way too much $$$ to Alex for us to want to keep him.

That might happen actually. I'd be shocked but its not that much of a stretch.

Alex would resign with the Niners for less money before he went to a team like the 'Skins
After what Alex went through his first six years, Harbaugh would have to physically throw him out of the building to get hin to leave. Alex will be back next year and the year after that. He'll get a two-year contract at about $10M per.
