Is the NFL ready for an Openly Gay Player

I read this article the other day.

NFL player reportedly considers saying he's gay

one quote from the article.

"I honestly think the players of the NFL have been ready for an openly gay player for quite some time now," Fujita told Freeman. "Trust me, the coming out of a player would create much bigger waves outside the locker room than inside."

Yeh its actually quite stupid isn't it. However because it is different than the society norm.By getting it out there, one day it won't be be a big deal. It won't seem like it is forced into every thing. People won't have to discuss it as being right or wrong. It will be just another thing.
