He's got SOO much potential. lol

I don't think many of us, even those of us who think Smith can be good, would say that. This is new opportunities. Minus Palmer, yes, I think sticking with Smith is our best option. Palmer changes the situation.

Anyways...

Don't see him in Seattle. In San Francisco or Arizona, he's a clear upgrade. Seattle, not so much.
Depends on the price. If it's draft picks, the first rounder is out of the question. I think our 2nd is still a little high. Third is good value, but I've heard suggestions that this might be where the Niners are targeting guys like Dalton, Ponder, Devlin, etc.

Also, what type of offense does Bob Bratkowski run in Cincy? WCO, Digit, etc? Remember: we want to make sure that the player works for the system we have, since it's doubtful that there will be a preseason, training camp, or OTAs to teach a new offense to a QB.

If it sounds like I'm negative on the idea of bringing in Palmer, I'm not. I think he's a good player who's still got enough tread on the tires to allow a rookie to sit and learn for a couple of seasons, and I get the impression that he's a team-first type of guy.

If the price and the fit are right, I'm all for it.
I live in Ohio. My Bengals friends hate Palmer and want him gone. This is good news in their mind. All of them have told me that Alex Smith is better than Carson.

I'd take him if the price is lowwwwwwwwww

Sometimes you just need a change of scenery and a fresh start.
I realy do not want him in SF

He's seriously no better than Alex.
He had a 82.4 QB rating, Alex had a 82.1 qb rating.
He had TO, Ochocinco, Gresham, Shipler, and Benson around him and he still was a below average QB last year

Yeah, we don't need him, but a year or two. Just enough time to get the rook ready.

All true. Carson achieved his stats against a much tougher schedule.

49ers had a "piece of cake" schedule and still failed.

Palmer also had 26 Tds and almost 4000 yards on a very bad team.

Don't be so sure. Some on this board think Smith would unseat Rivers in San Diego.

The team was bad because of him.

Have you watched his games? I watched about 4 or 5 of them and he makes the worst decisions I've ever seen a QB make (arguably as bad as Alex :p).

Seriously, unless its for a 4th round pick I do not want him on our team.
