Were the rookies they watched that terrible? Why burn a draft pick?
Post finding out what was traded- its basically nothing and if the one round later ruke were applied this would be the equivalent of an 8th or 9th round draft pick. Perhaps they want veteran competition for a rookie they draft.

Otherwise, this seems ill advised. About to be released. Injury History. Mediocre career history.
Seems like you could get similar as an UDFA this year.
Better be Camp fodder that carries no penalty draftwise if Cut prior to certain date (Final Cut day)
