My take on Kyle is, basically dual threat to take his offense to the next level. Last 2 years he got guys that are fast and quick that can get open. Now he added bigger size and quickness, can play inside and outside the numbers. Kinda started with Pettis learning multi receiver positions. Hurd is the poster boy for diverse personnel.

Kyle's offense was capable and effective, take what they give you most of the time. Now he wants his offense to, at times, take what they want. Steal the defense's lunch.

No he likes good route runners. Whether they be small or big.

Toilolo was brought in for competition more than anything. Don't know that he's even making the team.

well whether it be route runners like you say. the size like i say..... it is very obvious kyle was underwhelmed like many of us were by last years wide out so he did a big time shakeup. i also think you are undervaluing the new tight ends that were brought in, in my opinion kyle is looking for, as he should, a much better second tight end than a guy who caught. what five balls last year.

I think he and Kaden are better than Celek and Dwelly. Both are physical and know the system, or come out of a similar system. Celek time was fun, I love Celek, but I think (like some of our D-Lineman) were gonna cut some good players.
Imagine lining up; Hurd, Poindexter, and Toilo on left side of formation on goal line? Too much size and power, screens, etc. we can crash it in, or catch it over ya' head..

I agree. I hope we can get some trades going and possible extra draft picks in the later rounds if we're going to let some good players go. (BeatHard, Bourne, Taylor - for example) should fetch us some late round draft picks. At least I hope they do.

Most definitely. It's not hard to see where and how Kyle plans on attacking the weaknesses on defenses now...all about mismatches.

That's a deadly combo - can't wait to see what Shanny comes up with.

you really think nobody has thought of trying to just go all tall scrubs before? I like Hurd, but this is hardly scary or innovative.

True, bcuzz we sure cud have used extra 4th-7th rounders this year, there was a lot of help/players left , so getting a lot of bottom picks can help when drafting, esp. trying to move up, or take best player still available on the board.

Actually the entire NFC West has went tall. Not to mention, WE got killed last year by teams using this "non-innovative" concept at nauseum. Outsized, out jumped, happened in red zone a lot with a few game winners.. So in that, I have to disagree, however, IF/WHEN this DOES happen this year, hopefully you will stand by your thread (unlike others on this board).

Still waiting for an NFL team to go over the top and get an NBA dropout small forward to catch jump balls. 6'8 player with hops. Who cares if he can't take a hit. Teach him slant route and fade route. Score touchdowns.

I think it gets sketchy after around 6'5" for athletes to go over the middle. I don't think super-leggy receivers would enjoy crossing blindly with a brickhouse linebacker bearing down at their knees.

Because I know that's exactly what my short ass used to aim for against tall receivers. I'm built like a tank and blowing out those knees.

Oh yeah no way a large target like that is venturing across the middle. This guy would operate strictly in the redzone, 10 yard line and closer, outside the numbers. Not even a 6'2 CB can match up to that.

NFL Refs: "Climbing up the player, 15 yards, half the distance to the goal. First down."
