it's pretty simple he didn't like the pick last yr and will not push off a narrative of a player he doesn't like regardless of how well he plays....it's literally the same thing as some posters in here.

There's no oops I guess i'm not a NFL talent evaluator and got it wrong lol

he's gonna do it with Pettis as well. He will go out of his way to poo poo a player based on bias...other beat writers don't do that s**t.

This, it's like people are new to Cohn. This is his MO.

If he doesn't like a pick he will go out of his way to throw shade on them any way he can get it.

I remember a couple of years ago, maybe it was about Kap, maybe not but it was a training camp report and EVERY other beatwriter that day pointed out how player X had an awesome play. Meanwhile you read Cohn's report on the same play and he totally changes the narrative to a negative one towards the player he was trying to put down.

LOL. Nobody is questioning his X's and O's. Reading the practice reports from MB, MM and Twitter for Lombardi, most of these points align...minus his narratives and negative personal opinions.

He did preface by saying it's hard to tell much from one practice, esp. a no contact/padded practice.

Yet, Pettis is shying away from contact and Thomas is invisible and Williams ran with heart..... These aren't conclusion one can come to on an unpadded install.

Would have been bettered served to know what routes Pettis was taking. That way we could get an idea of what WR roles he currently working at. "Shying away over the middle" really doesn't tell us much. What was on a drag? Center hook? Or deep post shot? Being able to know the answers to these would give us an idea of where Pettis is lining up.

And oh yeah....Trent Taylor is in the BAD because he didn't practice due to a back issue. He seriously said "what 23 year old has a back issue" Just stupid s**t to write article.

When Pettis starts making plays and is dynamic in the return game he'll say this is what he expected and that he never doubted him.

Same thing with Thomas.

Some skinny practice notes:

Trent Taylor out with a back injury

McKinnon had 2 TD's (1 stretch, 1 reception) and looks electric

Starting LB's were Toomer at WILL and Smith at MIKE

Goodwin had a great day too

Sherman is a straight up coach out there and crazy involved like when Jerty Rice was here last year

Tartt broke up passes

Joe Williams looked decisive and looked great; played with heart which was lacking last year; scrappy, tough, finished every run. Shanahan gave him props on how hard he ran

Day had a sack and PBU

Kittle looked really good; great routes and explosive when healthy

Toomer looked stiff and not very fast

Boldin Jr. with a deep TD

Bourne invites contact in the middle of the field (contested catches), Pettis shies away from it. He thinks Bourne has a better chance to replace Garçon than Pettis

Attaochu gave McGlinchey fits all day because of how low he gets and his bend; hard time even getting his hands on him. Wasn't sure if that's a testament to JA or rookie MM being vulnerable to start

Colbert looks bigger, around 210 now

JG's mechanics are perfect, great day with sideline and deeper throws and a couple bad traffic balls and a couple deeper accuracy issues; bad miss were the concerns (high and behind Garcon, badly missed Burbridge; chalked it up to chemistry but something to watch as similar issues last year)

BeatHard had poor accuracy; a lot of bad throws

Noting you can see guys in their second years filled out and look like they belong; Dirty Tiny was one of them. Pettis and James are tiny but give them a year to physically develop. Colbert jacked

--- disclaimer ---

Pettis will be his early click bait guy

--- end/disclaimer ---

Armstead manhandled Garnett all day, shoving him constantly into the backfield; he said same issues last year with strength even when he was 20 pounds heavier; struggled with dropping anchor. Reiterated Charles Haley livid at how soft he was last year. He's hoping Cooper will be the guy. He'll be ready for TC once healed from the knee

Solomon invisible "just like his rookie year." LOL

thanks for posting this. Nobody drops truth like Grant Cohn he's on his way to being a legend just like his pops.

A legend in his own mind.

Dude, honestly do you post anything without troll undertones to it anymore?

i refuse to believe anyone posting something like the post above isn't trolling.
I respect grant because he's not afraid to have an opinion unlike all the other niner minion beat writers.

Don't click though....just laugh at these threads when they trend at the top.

Well it's easy to have UNINFORMED, useless opinions, and brave to post stuff people either groan about or laugh at.😂

Seriously, the guy is a tick turd.
