OBJ wasn't putting us over the top. The defense is horrible. The offense was serviceable. I agree with Lynch for not overpaying for a guy who is a b***h mentally and more importantly almost never ever plays 16 games because he's always hurt. For the right price? Sure, but I'm glad we didn't over pay.
I can tell what's not the right price given what we know :
- 2nd overall pick + Buckner
- 2nd overall pick plus our 2020 1st round pick
Either or scenario, OBJ is not worth that much.
So I will ask this question again.....
Why are we assuming that what the Giants were asking for is what we would have given them? Look at what the Giants got for OBJ. Either of your two scenarios would be giving up FAR more than the Giants accepted. So why is what the Giants supposedly asked us for the measuring stick, rather than what they actually accepted?
It was already reported, and Gettleman said it, he wanted 2 1st rd picks, 1 this year, and a player who is a 1st rd talent, he didn't want a 2020 1st, plus they got a 3rd as well. We were never getting OBJ, it's clear the Giants wanted him out of the NFC.
He(Gettleman) asked for Buckner, we said no, they refused swapping 2 for 6, and our 2020 1st for OBJ. It was NEVER happening. people need to get over it, and stop harping on the past so much.
