Lucked into Shanahan but Lynch as a GM? Wtf?? So many qualified GMs 49ers interviewed...and in the end - they decided to hire a guy who has ZERO experience working in a NFL Front Office. He has ZERO experience as a scout at any level. I understand, so many potential GM candidates rejected 49ers. But, to hire a guy who has never held a position that is in no way related to a day-2-day job profile of a GM is unbelievable. I'm sure Lynch is a smart guy...he was a smart player...but that has NOTHING to do with being a GM. Why take the risk at this time? --------------- edit: After having some time to digest this news...wish him all the best and I hope he proves ppl wrong. Still don't understand why we needed to take such a risk but it is what it is now. I do have to say - his first presser made a positive impression.

Still not sure if I'd do it. With the contract Wilson just signed they'll likely never see a pick at #2 or #32 until he's gone. They're gonna be stuck in the 15-25 range forever.

Exactly, lol.

I'm surprised at the amount of people here freaking out about how Lynch is handling the Gould situation. While not ideal I'd say he's played it pretty well, reminding Gould who's in charge.

I don't this is the way a GM should refer (in bold) to a current player (Kwon):
"We're very happy to have Kwon Alexander, but that came at a heavy price [large contract]," Lynch continued. "We would've much preferred to have Reuben still playing here.

It's because hes on a cheaper rookie deal. Not because of the player

Agree, 6 is too low. I want a kings ransome to move that far down.

Too bad that's the Giants pick, they won't give up a lot for a QB, they seem destined to wait till 6 or 17 or 2020 for a QB. I'd rather stay at 2, pick Bosa or Williams or Allen, any of those 3 would work, preferably Bosa if Murray goes #1.
