This guy is the most overrated player on our team. He is making big money to get torched alot. If we dont for some dumb reason re-sign Goldson, then we are in trouble on D. Rogers is a decent CB on a great defense. Culliver is better and I would say Cox is just as good as a cover corner and tackler. Goldson is elite, And we have to bring him back to contend. Trade Alex/Rogers (free up 12-14 mill). Pay Goldson 4yrs/32mill and draft a CB in the late 1st round.
CB Brown 1st Roundpick
CB Culliver Cox (#5FA pickup)
FS Goldson Robinson/M.Thomas
SS Whitner Spillman
I also think M.Thomas will make the final 53 next year and Brock is garbage also.
I like it but would rather go D-line first round...
i think we need depth at Dline, but not any starters. Justin has at least 3 good years left and Soap i would say 2 more. RayMac is solid. Ian Williams i like alot and Tukuafu is reliable. IMO Dobbs is overrated and could use a Watt type in his spot to spell Justin in the future.
ya most teams could use a 20 sack 5 technique, i've seen one in my time watching football, you?
Aldon Smith is a rush linebacker not DLINE bro
He was referring to you saying we need a Watt type DE lol
could use and need to 2 diff things. Justin Smith is just as good as JJ Watt
you are still missing the point
he's saying that guys like JS and Watt come a long maybe once a decade. can't just go out there and find the next Watt that easily.
i agree, but with good coaching D-line guys can also become good also. See RayMac, RickyJ

i may be dumb and i usually am but i am not tragically worried about him,, he has just been up and down like alot of the guys on defense at times this year

I'm not too worried either. Everyone around here was freaking out that he would get roasted by Welker in the pats game but he kept Wes in check IIRC,
Rogers became a common whipping boy in the ZONE early this year but the guy deserve some credit for the way he has played down the stretch. I don't recall many completions on him today. Seemed like Ryan was targeting TB

Rogers was covering the slot man, Harry Douglas, for most of the day. That's why you didn't hear his name called much. Ryan was force feeding the ball to White-Jones-Gonzalez.
Some disagree, but Carlos has played very well for us this year. He almost made a HUGE mistake when he fell down and left Douglas wide open. We were lucky that Douglas fell down when he made the catch. That probably shouldn't have been ruled a completion anyhow.

He's been quieter this year, but no less productive

He's played fine. He's only missing the interceptions. Every year the Zone picks out a whipping boy. I think it was Joe Staley last season. If our pass rush emerges again next season, Rogers would look just as good as he did in 2011.

he also had a huge pass deflection on the deep ball to Roddy White!

Gotta admit, he held up pretty well against a potent offense. I'm usually nervous about Rogers matching up against speed receivers.
He normally gets killed.

I seriously thought he was gonna lower his shoulder and run Carlos right over for the first down. Amazing play by Rogers.

Yep. I was so happy he made that tackle. He usually always gets a first down there.

Agree. Thought he played a very solid game yesterday.
Just hope he doesn't have to cover Torrey Smith 2 weeks from now. Don't like that matchup at all...lol.
