Well, if he starts, the gameplan will be his and not Jimmy's... sooo, look for a couple legitimate options beyond 15 yards... That should help keep the defense honest in the box and should allow the running game to benefit from more space.

So 50% of the offensive snaps will be pistol formation and read option looks? Sweet.

If we're going to start him (which I think we should), Kyle needs to take his medicine and let the kid screw up. You can tell he's playing tight and not wanting to make a mistake - that's on Kyle. He's so damn controlling of his QB's it makes me sick. Someone needs to cuss him the F out and tell him to sit down.
I have a feeling that Trey will get his first start against the Cards and will give them their first loss. Cardinals have no idea what game plan Kyle will have, and by the time they figure it out it'll probably be too late.

Pay attention to the betting odds, we'll more than likely be huge underdogs making it a perfect storm in Arizona!

I don't think that's going to effect anything in the game. Personally, I don't care if the fans have confidence in him or not. If he starts, I hope he plays well so we win. Losing sucks.

I give zero craps about how, "entertained" I am by a qb, losing sucks. I remember when Chip Kelly was hired there were a number of people in here who said, "well, we'll probably lose but at least it'll be entertaining cause we'll be scoring points". Yeah.......

Kyle needs to sit Jimmy these next two games to rest that calf and get him ready for after the bye. Trey would have the next two games to show improvement.

One more game and then we have a bye.

Sorry, the next game.

I think Trey should get both. See how he does after the bye also, if he doesn't look like he gives us a better chance at winning after the Colts game, send Jimmy back in with a well healed leg. We're winning the Colts game regardless of who is under center.

How is fan confidence waning? He's scored what 4 or 5 td's so far?? WTF does waning mean? He's barely played. Kyle is an egotistical controlling douche who basically spit on him in the preseason. The other rookie qb's are settling in while Kyle is making do with a Ford Taurus with no rb's or safeties.

Mac Jones throws as many INTs as TDs, so cerebral.

Cant forget a near league worst 6 ypa. But he has a high completion %!!!! Cerebral!

Mr Dink and Dunk

Fans typically have unrealistic expectations. The guy came off the bench, executing a gameplan designed for a different style qb with no first team reps that week. I'd say he did fine out there, considering the circumstances. We should all wait until he has a week of preparation and a gameplan that is designed for him before we begin criticizing.

He needs to improve his accuracy that's mainly my beef about him so far. He looks like he's good a good scrambler, it's staying in the pocket and delivering a good ball is my concern.

That's most guys on Friday nights
Trey should get the reps in practice this week

If JG can start he will already know what to do and can get into a groove at the cost of a drive or so

If JG can't start or aggravates the injury mid game we don't want Trey going in cold like last time

Ok so he has played from the pocket and still looks like he has tremors in a clean one? That's even worse buddy. Name one other qb in the nfl who looks that spastic and uncomfortable from the pocket.
There's not one.

Really don't know what game you were watching and seeing Trey as being 'spastic and uncomfortable' in the pocket. Aside from maybe two plays where he sensed pressure a bit early, he was very solid from a clean pocket.
His pocket manipulation and presence I thought was one of his bigger pros. That along with his agility and quickness he showed. I was impressed with both.

My biggest concerns are the awful mechanics and terrible accuracy. Im definitely very worried about him missing the gimmie throws.

Ok, I know I am not seeing things. He may improve with more time, and more experience, but last game, he was innacurate, he was throwing ducks, he was scared and panicky. He was totally unprepared and did not look ready or comfortable. He ran the second the first read wasnt there and he started freaking out. It was everything I was worried about. Whats worse it seemed his mechanics got worse. I dont know what shanahan has been doing with him. lets hope he improves.

This isn't true at all. He generally stayed in the pocket until pressure forced him out.
