Taking a RB w/ their first pick given how talented this RB class is would be a luxury pick - we have too many other needs and viable/even a great fit RB can be found later (see Jones, Penny, Michel).

Would you rather have either Nelson/Roquan + Penny/Jones/Michel or just Barkley??

An RB is a luxury, and as an RB you're right there isn't a huge drop off.

The difference is that Barkley is a true weapon out of the backfield and that adds value, it's the same as Le'Veon Bell trying to reset the market, he is that much more valuable than a RB.

Bell has a stud oline.

True but that can be built, besides you're completely missing my point.

There are loads of RB's that can catch and run. There are very few who are true matchup nightmares out of the backfield. Those guys are rare, and valuable

Agreed. Imo you take a chance on Barkley. Which is why I belive he will be long gone by the time we pick.

If he "flops" people understand. It's like a qb-Gotta try taking one high if you don't have one, but everyone knows it's a crapshoot.

His rare ability merits the risk.

If we had a choice between him, Nelson and smith? Hmmmmmm. Foster is keeping smith high on my list. I really want to see who we add in FA, but I'd say take Barkley if for some reason he falls to us.

I don't think he "falls" to the Jets.

The MMQB's Albert Breer spoke to one AFC executive who explained the top of the draft will be dictated by supply and demand.

Those positions in demand? "There are only so many corners, only so many pass rushers, only so many quarterbacks and left tackles," the executive explained, adding that is why those positions get paid so much. This is in reference to many ranking Saquon Barkley and Quenton Nelson as the top two prospects of the draft, and it possibly suggests they go later than those on the outside are expecting. "A lot of people say it's just 'take the best player', but that's not practical."
