The Patriots deflated footballs Sunday night.

IMO the nfl screwed this up majorly. After finding out a member of the Jets staff was suspended years ago for deflating kicking balls. This was no secret thing around the league.

When the Colts complained about it. The NFL should have told NE about the complaint BEFORE the game. Checked the balls to make sure they were ok and told them if they found that the balls had been deflated at halftime or after the game they would face possible fines or suspensions, and to never do it again.

Instead the NFL set up NE and used the first half of the game to try and catch them in the act.

Very poorly handled.

There will always be a cloud of doubt around Brady. Having said that, ever since he played that amazing SB against Seattle, he has changed my opinion about his QB skills. A great player.

Ah well. I'm at the point where this is so out of control that I'm starting to agree that everybody and every team should just ignore the NFL, Commish, and all the rules and let the whole thing implode.

Yes, the 4 game suspension was way over the top considering that the WRITTEN max penalty for the violation was just a minimal fine, but you have to take past behavior into consideration at some point.

No penalty at all is a joke.

Thats the problem with having the ability to take this to a federal court. At the end of the day the judge probably didnt give a s&#t and just said go ahead and play. He probably thought it was a joke he was listening to this crap

Just heard now that greg hardy wants to appeal his suspension

Might as well bring aldon back and not worry about Brooks outcome

i didnt think of that but this is very good news for the 49ers. We can just take the suspensions to court and get off easy like brady.

You are right though, the judge has to deal with criminal cases all the time and then this sh!t gets brought to him and he is telling himself "who the f*ck cares, this isnt important" haha

Goodell went overboard compared to the evidence they actually had, and now he's paying for that hubris. So, IMO, Goodell can eat a dick on this one, and I will simply LOL.

To me, this isn't at all the same as a suspension for legal issues off the field. Those are pretty clear cut incidents with only the severity of suspensions being questionable at times. For Deflategate they had zero actual evidence that Brady ordered the code red, and yet they tried to hang the guy for that. I'm sorry, but you need to actual prove that someone cheated before suspending them, IMO. They did it backwards, and now Goodell and the league looks completely foolish.
