Would You Welcome T.O. Back to the 49ers?

With McClueless now out I think we are going to sign him.

i wonder if we're one of the 3 teams interested..

If I'm not mistaken, we were interested last year. But TO wanted more money than we were willing to pay him.

you're right i remember hearing about this lastyear.

I said it before and I'll say it again, TO, Crabtree, Vernon and Gore on every offensive snap =

no wonder why nobody wants to sign him

he still wants 5 mill per season
i would like for him to resign but for that kind of money.....

ESTA LOCO!!!!!!!!!!

So that's pretty much a 2 year $10 million dollar contract, which is about right for a veteran starter such as TO. Shoot look what they did for Brandon Jones, and I guarantee you Owens makes more of an impact than Jones next year.

Eh I'd rather draft a guy like Demaryius Thomas or Golden Tate but I'd welcome TO back, but that price is steep when you can find a guy in the draft who has more athleticism and better hands.

and is about 15 years younger. isnt T.O. like 38? he already has bad hands and a big mouth, put that together with his aging legs and i dont see why anyone would want this clown back. let him go to oakland so he'll be close enough to monitor and laugh at without damaging our team AGAIN and letting the younger guys develop

Yeah he's 35 turning 36 this year I think. He can still play, Smith is a better QB than either of the 2 clowns in Buffalo and TO put up 800 yards and 5 TDs with them so he could probably get 1000 yards with Smith at QB. On the other hand, a guy like DT would add some serious size and athleticism to our team and a guy like Tate would stretch the field.

i dont want T.O. taking snaps away from Crabs, Hill, Morgan or a promising rookie. ill take a rookie with upside over a mid 30's WR with baggage and absolutely no upside any day of the week. Tate would be awesome if he falls to our 2nd rounder but i doubt it. hopefully Dez falls a little in the draft and we get lucky and take him

T.O's upside is that he's better than Morgan, Hill, Jones. crabtree won't be affected he'll be the number 1

i wouldnt even say that. i think Hill and Morgan are both better than T.O. hopefully a better line will prove this. T.O. will not get the touches he desires here and he'll start to b***h and moan. Hill and Morgan are both faster than him and have better hands. its time to turn the page. taking snaps from developing players and giving them to a guy whos a season or two away from retirement is not a good idea. maybe QB is the only exception with that b*****d Brett Favre or a Montana situation in KC but QB's are different.

Disagree without any doubt. Terrell Owens commands much more respect on the field than both Hill and Morgan, shoot and even Brandon Jones. Terrell Owens last year had more yards and TD's than all three receivers I mentioned. Terrell Owens as a veteran receiver knows things on the field to help a QB like Smith and I'm pretty sure would help mentor the young ones for a year or two.

At 36 years old, Terrell Owens is still burning DB's for 98 yards!!!

thank you for responding for me

he does know veteran tricks and all that but hes just a bandaid, our problems all started because we let the team get too old without developing young talent (look at the current state of the seattle seahawks cuz theyre going through the same thing) and besides that, even tho buffalo was bad, they had one kind of offense in place all year long. we had a shape shifting offense that didnt solidify at all and we also changed QB's mid season and had the worst O-Line in the league. T.O. doesnt even get close to 800 yards on last years 49ers

Last time we went into the season with young receivers we went came out with a 2-14 record, then a 4-12 record the following year. Seattle's problems are injury plagued O-line and QB problems, they have more than capable receivers to burn our secondary day in and day out.

Regardless of Buffalo's offense and ours last year, main thing is TO produced under the worst conditions. Imagine if they didn't have TO, they would've been worst than 6-10, TO was the best thing they had on offense last season.

And I disagree, WE DID NOT HAVE THE WORST O-LINE LAST YEAR, we were/are ranked 22nd in the league. Our O-line only gave up 40 sacks last year, compared to Green Bay who is DEAD LAST with 51 sacks.

And your probably right, TO doesn't even get close to a 800 yards with the 9ers last year, cause that would've been Vernon Davis with 965, followed by Michael Crabtree with 625. And again you are overlooking the fact that TO would be brought in to relieve pressure off receivers not to come in and be our star receiver.

those receivers were not looked at as being potential pro-bowlers like crabtree and possibly morgan or dez bryant if we end up with him somehow. those receivers were battle, brandon lloyd, rashaun woods, derrick hamilton, pj fleck? those guys were no bodies and did not show any signs of getting better.

T.O. was the only thing they had last year, thats why his 800 yards are inflated. he was their whole s**tty offense. with us he wouldnt not even get close. so we would be wasting a spot on a guy who will be a non contributor, like bruce last year, d. jack and the rest of the old WR's we bring in for "experience" lately. maybe green bay had more sacks but rodgers sacked himself quite a few times last year with his scrambling. our line was probably on pace to be worse while hill was there but when smith came in and threw the ball away and avoided the rush a little better so the sacks went down. he was still rushed A LOT and didnt have too much time to throw, a problem that hopefully gets fixed ASAP.

bottom line is why bring in T.O. and pay him good money to be a 3rd or 4th receiver? especially when it takes a roster spot from someone who we could actually get better and at this point is cheaper. signing T.O. doesnt make too much sense to me.

T.O. will be no lower than our number 2 Reciever... if signed
COME HOME T.O.!
Yes, if only because his game has slipped to the point where it wouldn't be too difficult a decision to cut him if his antics got out of hand. I'm inclined to think maybe this last year in Buffalo has humbled him a bit, too.
I could handle this. Who knows. Maybe he lifts the curse.

I was going to post a question in this thread about T.O.'s chances to come here now that McClueless is gone, and I think there is a better chance now that we sign Owens.

I believe so, And Singletary can handle him too. Davis was humbled by Singletary, Owens could too. If Owens tried to pull anything, he would be gone and he knows it. Owens would come here, behave, and catch a few passes.
T.O. phone home.

He would drop his fair share as well.
