Quinn looked like a "franchise QB" today. Courtesy of the Lions defence.

LOL how you judge a QB off one game, now you see why people do the same with Smtih
Totally missed the point, I thought you said he NEVER takes shots down field??

and I thought you said he wasn't comfortable with the playbook or the coaches wanted him to manage the game??

Didn't see the game today as it wasn't on and was watching the 9ers. So i'll let the guys who did watch it tell you what they saw.

Toad, he wasn't very accurate. That was his biggest problem today.
But he still had his best game as a pro. He made some very good throws, though he struggled on the deep ball. He made good reads, quick decisions and found the open guys. He just wasn't that accurate.

I think your message would carry more weight if he did certain things well that he isn't doing now ... and hasn't done since he's been in the league.
*Any pressure at all, he rushes, completely loses his mechanics, and ends up being wildly inaccurate on his short throws.
*Other than today, he has not been able to complete long passes, and the two TDs were on broken coverages.
*Other than the pass to Estandia - which was a great pass - he still has not shown he can throw in the 15-30 yard range with any accuracy at all. And that was just a great play call with very few players down the field i.e., very little traffic.
*Even though he had a better game today, I still saw some things that I don't think we should see from a starting NFL QB. He missed both MoMass and Furrey on easy slant patterns, one on a potential 3rd down conversion, the other a potential TD.
It was great to see a little life out there, and I was happy we scored some points, and I was happy we moved the ball with BQ, but I just don't see us doing it with much success against the tougher teams in the NFL.

Go back and look at my reply.
When I said what I said in my last reply, it was me speculating on WHY he might not be taking chances down-field. I didn't say its because Quinn ISN'T comfortable with the playbook. And aside from you going off other peoples quotes, HE WAS accurate on his deep passes today, the receivers pretty much caught there passes in-stride. And even if it was blown coverages, they were the right reads for HIS team correct?? I mean if he missed on blown coverages, wouldn't that be a mistake on his part, then later people would say, s**t, he had Stuckey and Massaquoi open down-field and he didn't even see it.
BTW those deep passes were for 40 and 59 yards.
And again, I will say this, Quinn is better than any QB on our roster!!!

You could try to trade for someone else. But last year there were big names like Cutler on the block and the niners wouldn't even consider pulling the trigger. We could look out there in free agency but do you really want another castoff. The one guy who could be available and probably has the most upside is probably Alex. We would be much better off drafting a QB.
Kevin Kolb from Philly.
Please no more Alex!!!

David Carr was just unlucky. I mean they get a all pro left tackle who never even played a snap to protect him. They get the best wr in the league and david is on his ass every play. I really like that kid and think if he would have gotten drafted by any other team he might have at least been solid. But kind of hard to figure out how to be a nfl qb when you get drafted by a newly created team, so hopefully Eli goes down and he get's a chance again!
