Arenas charged with a felony

Contract terminated

Doesn't he have to get convicted first? I'd bet that he pleas down to a misdemeanor.

I'd bet he doesn't get substantial jail time and the Wizards don't have enough to void.

If I had bet you from the beginning with all your predictions I would be rich

The only thing I was wrong about from the beginning was that David Stern would suspend Arenas.

And I had no idea Arenas would piss off Stern with that picture. Otherwise, he would have gotten a minor suspension.

So being charged with a felony "is a slap on the wrist"

The picture only speeded up the process of him getting suspended. You would think $111 million alone would make him act more professional. Stern suspended much more quickly bc he was acting so unprofessional about the whole situation

Being charged with a felony where you could end up with no jail time at all = slap on the wrist.

Many people get charged with felonies and get no jail time. Instead they get felony probation which is the worst thing you can do unless you can stay clean for 1-5 years.

Long probation periods are not a slap on the wrist, especially when you are pleading guilty to a felony and getting probation for it.

Is it really that hard to stay clean for 1-5 years? Seriously? Like that is hard?

I'm on an incredible 28 year streak, but that's mostly luck.

For most no, but it does make it harder because felony probation guidelines are very strict as far as how many drug tests and meetings you have with your probation officer.
Arenas testified to authorities that Crittenton responded to his ill-fated practical joke of laying unloaded guns on Crittenton’s locker room chair with the brandishing of his own weapon. At least one other teammate witness in the locker room backed that story, sources with knowledge of the case said.

Probation is a slap on the wrist. Is is incredibly easy to not break the law.

For an unloading f**king gun??? Are you kidding me? Plax got screwed already, but atleast his gun was loaded and went off in his leg. GA brought UNLOADED GUNS, which were not HARMFUL TO ANYBODY BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY f**kING BULLETS IN THEM, AND HE DID NOT FIRE OR ACT LIKE HE WAS GOING TO FIRE THEM. Plax got screwed but this isn't even close. That unloaded gun was about as harmful as any other hard steel object in an arena, of which there are plenty. If anybody should get screwed over this it's Crittenton, who pulled a loaded gun on his own teammate.

obviously it is easy to not break the law. But it doesnt only take breaking the law on felony probation to get in lots of trouble. You cant leave the country, you cant leave the state, constant meetings, your house can be searched at any time.

Considering Arenas likes to play the clown "I don't know crap", it wont be easy for him

GA pulled out 4 guns on him, not many people think that is funny
This was a bonehead move by Gilbert but I Dont think he deserves jail time and if he gets some OBAMA should pardon him. If I was In the NBA I would own more than two guns. Do any of you remember that these guys especially the ones with huge contracts like Gilbert are targets for real criminals. Antoine walker was tied up and robbed with his family! Paul pierce got stabbed early in his career. And just like countless other pro athletes these guys don't feel safe and they deserve a right to protect themselves......I'M NOT DEFENDING WHAT HE DID. But the NBA is overreacting.

I believe in the saying no harm no foul. Nobody got hurt, it's no big deal. Politicians in that same f**king city do way worse things and nobody says send them to jail for years. If he gets a few months, okay whatever. And that's what it looks like. But to just say you think the guy should go to prison for TWO YEARS when nobody got hurt is ignorant and stupid. How the hell are you going to take away someone's freedom for 2 years for this, not even the prosecutors are going to do that. It'd be bulls**t all the way. But hey, I guess these days if someone that's not in a position of power breaks a law and nobody gets hurt, they should go to prison for multiple years and sit next to the guys who are rapists and murderers, but if someone with power does it then it's okay they're not going anywhere because we can't do anything about them anyway

So there shouldn't be any such thing as attempted murder? No harm, no foul right. Should I not be given a ticket for drink driving if on the way home, I don't injure anybody? Your logic doesn't work.

The fact is, Arenas broke the law, and he should be given a punishment within the means. That's all.

I believe he broke the law. There are consequences for breaking the law. He deserves any sentence the judge lays on him for the simple fact GA is a dumbass with a prior history of breaking the law.
