The 49ers are a running team. With an All PRO offensive line and Frank Gore. We threw the ball on 3 successive downs and didn't move the ball AT ALL!!!
Thanks ROMAN!! Great job you're the first offensive coordinator in 49ers history to lose the SuperBowl because you weren't good enough. IDIOT
Sloppy play. This team is aggressive and has a lot of heart, which reflects on the strong suit of Harbaugh in getting them to bring high effort on a regular basis. But you can't expect to win championships when you don't play smart. The Niners regularly mismanage the clock, waste time outs, make costly penalties. The Ravens were not a more talented team by a long shot, but they were a better coached team. Harbaugh needs to evolve a bit to get over the top. A Bill Walsh disciplined team with the level of talent on the Niners roster would have won this game by two touchdowns because they never would have found themselves in a 20 point hole. This is the team's Achilles heel. Ravens deserved to win it. Shame.

our secondary is average at best.

Our pass rush made them look good. When our pass rush isn't dominant our secondary is garbage.
Goldson is still great, Brown is good, but Rogers, Culliver, and Whitner were exposed today

They did not give Gire the ball..simple...give Gire the ball we get a TD, dick around with passes in the flat in a very, very short field and you get what we got.. idiot play calling in this instance. I think even Kap could have bootlegged it in, what were the coaches thinking?!?

the first down play where they did run the pistol and Gore ran to the 4 yard line, looking at the replay Kaep could have run left for an easy TD, there were no defensive players on that side of the field. the 2nd, 3rd, 4th down calls were all bad--all to the right front corner of the end zone--3 straight times??

I agree with the other posters--run the pistol, make the right read---touchdown--super bowl champs!
Look we can sit here and talk about what did or didn't cause us to win/lose the game, but the truth of the matter is we lost as team just as we easily could have won as a team. No singular play was the defining moment of the game! Did G.Ro make some questionable play calls... YES. But he also made calls that brought us back from being 22 points down. Did LMJ fumble YES. But so did Ray Rice. Did Whitner blow coverage? YES. But so did Bernard Pollard. We lost the game, point blank period. Let's look foward to a very bright future, two years ago we would be debating about who to take in the 1st round. I'm not saying settle for first place but let's not act like the Patriots and try to act like we beat ourselves. We meet up with a team built just like us and they punched us in the mouth. Had this been any other team in the NFL we would have won but we met team who wanted it more. My ONLY major concern was the poor officiating. People can say oh we should not let it come down to one call, this is true. But when we do our part and fight back into the game part in due because of several calls missed during SCORING/POSSIBLE SCORING plays... it's an issue. On the 108 yard Jones kickoff TWO Ravens players were holding the same 49ers player (Delaine I think). 2nd one was the 2pt conversion... Reed was off sides. I'll let the refs live on the Crabtree no-call only because Crabs made contact as well (albeit due to the fact that he was trying to push off because Smith was holding him). Good year fellas, hope we can fill out holes next year and finish what we started two years ago.

That was Who..LBJ, not Gire. He didn't get a carry with 5 yrds to go..Someone needs to take a huge hit of acid and see how to call a game when you have 1:40 minutes to win..WTF That's a long damn time in NFL drive scenarios.. How often does this chance come..my god.. Christ almighty...baawhaaaw
Also I see a lot of people dogging Culliver but IMO he is one of the few CB's on our team who can consistently make plays on the ball deep down the field and he can play man pretty good. I think the only person at this point I would want removed from out secondary is Whitner, I don't think he brings anything special to our defense. We need someone special back their who can make a qb think twice before he lets a pass fly. Also the pass rush has NOT been helping our DBs at all. My only issue with the AJ Jenkins pick was the fact that front seven help was a bigger issue with Aldon moving to be a 3 down backer. Which personally I think we need to draft a three down olb and turn Aldon into a pass rush specialist again.
1. after two weeks of preparations you can't start your first drive with an illegal shift.

2. after two weeks of preparations you can't let them pass deep.

3. we came out flat again

4. play calling on offense

5. secondary is a mess

We lack talent on the edges on both sides of the ball. Need to get more talent at WR and CB if we want to improve.

Kaepernick is incredibly talented, but still needs to mature as a player. Even with everything he's done, I still don't think he's figured out how to use his entire toolbox of talents all the time. But when he does, he we will be scary good.

I truly think that John has the psychological advantage in the sibling rivalry. You can see, even in the press conferences, how Jim is not the same when he's around his brother. I think Jim out thought himself some of that game trying to outmatch his brother. I'm not sure if that's something he will overcome some day. I just hope next time we make the superbowl it's against any of the other 15 AFC teams.

I don't think they were better coached. I think the Niners young players just saw it was their time and played out of their minds, inducing fu*king up.. It was there 1st time.. hopefully. it will NOT be their last .. NINERS!! (god awful hard o say at this time of grief...)

incredibly stupid play calling..They would have got it in if they just let Frank and Kap run the gawdamn ball...
1. Slow start again on defense. Defense didn't play well in the first half.
2. Bonehead play calling inside the 10 on the last drive.
2a. Why pass when Ngata was out and rushing is 49ers stregth on the last drive.
If they were not gonna call the Crabtree hold then why call the cully pi IMO the one on Crabtree was much more blatant... Refs may not have been the reason we lost but I have absolutely no doubt that they gave the ravens the benifits of the doubt when they could.

Lets see ray smacks vd in the first Q not called
T Suggs hits kap every time after a hand off not called
Go watch the replay cullys foot contacts jones's foot on the td at least review it
Pi on cully
Ed reed offsides on 2 pt converision
Crab gets blasted helmet to helmet on the 3rd down on the last drive
On second down the defender came through crab to bat the ball down
4th down crab play
#51 on ravens hold on kickoff
Dixon being held on punt at the end

There is more but I don't think I could rewatch the game without becoming sick to my stomach
