3-4 is a perfect system for him, as he won't be on the field every down. He will be a back up anyways, but hopefully he will be a good rotational player.

There are a variety of reasons he dropped. He is a tweener and wasn't used properly. He started out as a OLB then coaching changes made him a DE. Also they went from a 3-4 to a 4-3. He will have a learning curb and adjustment.His disease probably also affected a little. However, the above affected his production. I expect the niners to use him wisely. Much like they did with Aldon. Will be use for his run and pass rush skills and not coverage skills. Harrellson is gone after this year and he will be groomed to take his spot. for not it is special teams and getting mentally and physically stronger.
