i'm rooting for him just because of how quick so many people on here called him a bust. i like it when guys redeem themselves and make the knee jerk reaction crowd look a little foolish a la vernon davis, michael crabtree and anthony davis.

Kaep keeps in shape and it will help build some trust and chemistry. Good move by Jenkins lets hope it pays off next season. We could use his speed cuz Kaep has the arm to get him the ball
he needs to spend time with Rice
he planned that too and didn't follow through.
Everyone has "plans." Lets see some action.

He's going to spend the entire off season learning how to catch those fastballs and getting his timing for long bombs with Kaepernick. Give him next season before you decide he's a bust.

All well and good that hes taking the right step to improve his game, but im not sure Jenkins can even catch the football from Kaep if he puts even a little zip on it

This is good news. I haven't labeled Jenkins a bust just yet...

Gotta love the attitude, he didn't do anything this season but it's still to early to call him a bust

He said he'd go home to Jacksonville for a "couple of days" and, as soon as he could, return to Santa Clarato work with strength coach Mark Uyeyama. He also said he would spend time in Atlanta with Kaepernick and continue working on their chemistry.
"Obviously, I want to contribute a lot more than I have been," Jenkins said. "So I'm going to make that happen and come back bigger, faster, stronger.
"Obviously, they made me a first-round choice for that purpose," he said. "I'm going to accountable this offseason and make myself the kind of player that they want me to be.

Sounds like a guy who is desperate to keep his job. I wonder how much of this has to do with the coaches or GM telling him that if he doesn't improve, he will be cut.

The thing with Jenkins is that he has a few things that you just can't teach.
GREAT hands and pure speed.
If he can get with it and really apply himself to improving he may turn out to be a good pick. I think this season was a rude awakening for him. Now he knows whats expected and I guarantee he'll be a different player in TC than the guy who was in TC last year.

If nothing else, I like hearing that the kid actually cares. If he can add some strength and build chemistry with Kaep, there is no reason why he can't be a productive player.

This is going to be interesting. If AJ Jenkins comes back, looking like a number 1 pick, this team could be a nightmare for other defenses. I still am in favor of drafting someone that has the potential to start, but it would be great to have another guy with good hands (I remember hearing this after he was drafted last year, along with some good speed. The only reason I am optimistic that it will work out because it is a Baalke pick and he hasn't whiffed in the first round yet, let alone an entire draft (2010 producing Anthony Davis, Mike Iupati, NaVorro Bowman, and Kyle Williams, and 2011 speaks for itself).
