Should we trade Vernon Davis?

Vernon's not going to be productive when he is left in the backfield to block. In fact I don't think any tight end would be.

You guys are out of your minds.

Josh Morgan : 4.47 forty
Crabtree: unknown
Ginn: let's just say he's fast enough

Let me rephrase. They don't get separation. One on one coverage all day long and they don't produce.

Vernon produces ;ike an elite tight end and you guys are complaining because his production only comes from certain routes.
well this was dumb

I love the potential talent but he has hands of stone and alligator arms. What's the purpose of having a 4.3 speed TE when we just keep him in to block. We are wasting our time and cutting his career short. Delanie Walker would do just as good if not better. Plus, we're paying the dude MILLIONS of dollars as pretty much a small right tackle.

thoughts? suggestions? opinions?

i agreed it.. I noctied V.Davis is always plays for Block than catch the balls.. I need him move to plays for catch the balls than block.. If Gore or Hunters ran the holes when V.Davis can block them to open that is simple.. If he is blocks alot then it's not important why? we need scores and scores for help our team.. U know... I am thinking about V.Davis should trade other team but i like him alot.. he is best the strongest players but he is not talent for scores yets.. i am kinda disappoints to him that he don't have a scores our team..

Be patient , you're over reacting. His role will change when the OL finally improves their playand factor in he is getting a great deal of attention by the defense with Edwards out and Crabs not playing. IMVHO

we've been 4-5 years patience!!! same with Alex... i'm tired of these 5 year projects!

Yep.. aweful s**t.. We can fit here and get better everyday!! Amen! Bro!

Not just a general post not directed to anyone inparticular...

Here's the part that gets me! his 2 best years was '09 & '10 when EVERYONE on this board said we didn't have an OC. He didn't do anything with Norv! Nothing with Martz! Now Harbaugh! All these offensive "genius" all seem to use him the same way. Yet the one guy who had no clue as an OC used him... hmm!

Not too mention ALOT of his yardage and TD's seems to come when we're getting blown out. Why does he very rarely have BIG GAMES when we win?

Vernon was a rookie under Norv, and got hurt half way thru the season. Oh my God he didn't put 900 yards in 8 games as a rookie, what a bust.

Mike Martz does not use tight ends. Greg Olsen had 400 yards and 5 TD's and that's the most production he's ever had from that position. Davis was a Pro Bowl alternative under Martz too. He was asked to block and while you may think he was overrated, obviously others disagreed.

Harbaugh. 2 games, enough said.

Gates had Brees and Rivers as his qbs. I don't think he's a good example. Gonzalez definetily. Pro Bowl tight end with nothing around him and a revolving door of qbs.

oh yes, lets get rid of our good players. That will make us better. Maybe if I cut off a leg, i can run faster.
