My main concern with WR right now is depth. It would be great if the 3rd and 4th guys were really competitive with the first two...less of a drop off when an injury occurs.
Don't you think it's about time Smith develops his game a little further, you know; like how to utilize all his receivers, you know scan the field that kind of normal NFL QB skill set.. NO MORE HAND HOLDING WITH THIS GUY!
So...take away a receiver that he is really in sync with to make him better? Hmm! Wonder if Harbaugh has thought of this? Maybe make him play with only two offensive linemen? Hey! He could be forced to throw left handed!
Don't grasp your logic!
You are serious about this? You don't get the fact Smith still stares down receivers (#1 read) and only uses one side of the field... oh never mind what's the use, plus this aint no smith thread..Can't believe you don't get it/// maybe with an entire off season he gets better..
This is thread dedicated to analyzing Morgan's value to this team--as in: he's talking contract with the 9ers. I stated that his value was greater due to his chemistry with Smith. Doesn't seem like a stretch.
I believe you were the one who believes in getting rid of Morgan because he causes Smith to stare down receivers...or something...on one side of the field...and we shouldn't coddle Smith by keeping a receiver who has good chemistry with him...
Smith threw several very nice TD passes to the left side of the field during the playoffs but has been accused in the past as only using the right side. Hmm.

If that's the case, we should put Kaep in this category. The dude threw 2 straight passes to Morgan in the Tampa game. 1 on 3rd down that netted 5 yds. Then target Morgan again to convert a 4th down. Morgan broke a leg trying to make that play. Kaep didn't just stared down Morgan, he went looking for him like a Britney Spears stalker.

LOL! Yes, cut the b*#*rd! He injures his own players! Better yet, fire the coach who had him in the game!

I don't know what he thinks he is worth, but if it is not cap friendly let him walk. I'm tired of second rate WR's on this team thinking they deserve money they have yet to earn through numbers on the field. Home boy got hurt, no numbers this year. No one will pay him big or even close to that, his best deal and opportunity is right here in SF.
Let him walk, if he returns it was meant to be! My guess its a game of chick, a game he will lose. The market is going to be flooded with WRs, he's no top tier and maybe the low end of the 2nd tier. lol He'll be back!

From Rotoworld.com
CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco mentions Jacksonville as a possible destination for free agent Josh Morgan.
The Niners have openly stated that they want Morgan back, but "nothing is cooking" and "several teams" are expected to have interest if the 26-year-old hits the market. The Jaguars connection may be dot-connecting because Jags wideouts coach Jerry Sullivan was Morgan's position coach from 2008-2010.

i honestly think the niners are going to pursue hines ward. he has the vetern leadership.. has won the big game 2 times... to it 3 times so the experience is there. awesome run blocked. great short yardage reciever and cheap. literaly perfect and we draft a reciever in the first 3 rounds to groom. id be happy with it.

I like morgan his capabilities are impressive, but if he wants to explore the market and gets picked up it won't bother me much, just a nother receiver we have to replace and an opp to sign a good fa, and draft a pretty good receiver or 2 as well.

I hope he signs, but if not, oh well.
Take his money 3mm a year + money saved on Ginn, 2or3mm and add it together to get a pretty dam good reciever for 7mm. I'm not worried about punt return as last year was a fluke.

I think we could possibly convince to stay as a pr/kr he knows its the only reason teams would sing him anyways. But then again he had a lot of knee issues this season.
Hines ward hmmmm never thought about that I thought about driver if green bay dropped him, but never ward. I wonder why?
