Apparently, he was our new ST coach, Brad Seely's special teams ace in Cleveland. Remember, Cleveland had a top 5 ST with Seely, so imagine Costanzo as our new Michael Robinson.

The 49ers also announced the signing of former Cleveland Browns linebacker Blake Costanzo, who was one of the team's top special-teams players a year ago. Brad Seely, the 49ers' current special-teams coordinator, worked in that position with the Browns last year.

Costanzo, 27, has been a core special-teams player with the Browns the past two years under Niners first-year special-teams coordinator Brad Seely. In 2009, he was named to SI.com's All-Pro team as a special-teams player after collecting 14 tackles, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. He had seven tackles and one fumble recovery on special teams in 10 games last year.
