Next week in this division is HUGE

Clearly, Seattle is over-matched in New Orleans and should lose, so if we follow through against Tampa at home, we're one game out of first place with four division games to go!

Week 12 looks good for us too -- with us going to Arizona, Seattle hosting the Chiefs, and St. Louis going to Denver (I would not want to play Denver right now).

Week 12 will be the second week in a row that the 49ers are the only favorite in the whole division...we can be tied for first-place on Thanksgiving weekend!

Seattle probably re-takes sole possession of first place in week 13 (they play CAR, we play GB), but in week 14 we get Seattle at home while STL plays in New Orleans.

Thing is even tied with the Seachickens they smacked the Niners around in their meeting so they would still hold the advantage in the lead...and if they lose again to the Seachickens with 2 games left then Niners would have to win the division straight uo couldnt tie the Chickens...and not sure even if the Niners win depending on score they'd have to blow them out in the next game a feat they have yet to do this year

the recent week is the last one with teams on a bye...nice.
ok, let's see...rams will host the falcons. even if the falcons are red-hot right now, there is a trend, that anyone can beat anyone. thus, i think the rams will win this game.
the chickens should lose in the dome and i don't care about the chiefs' loss against the broncos...they should rebound against the awful cards.
imo, we have a big chance to win against the bucs, especially on the ground!!! yesterday they allowed the panthers to run all of over them (if you compare the running 'success" by the panthers to the previous games)...but we have to be aware of blount. i know why sing wanted him...this guy rocks.

The 49ers are 3 point favorites against 6-3 TB? Good luck covering that one.

As someone else said, the entire NFC West will lose next week.
we gonna be in this race until the end, we might not gain ground every week but just keep pace and pounce on the opps given when seattle and stl lose, arz is done i think they have played the worst football all season of any team
and as far as the poiunt spread go, its not an indication of who should win and by how much, the line is set to encourage equal betting on both sides of the line
Every week Football Outsiders calculates each team's chances of making the playoffs. After the first 2-3 weeks we were
On a sidenote I forgot to add yes the niners won in SF in OT but will they be able to beat the Rams in St Louis? Rams are 4-1 at home Niners are 0-4 on the road...So the Rams game is no EASY niner win...I never thought the Niners would be losing to a then 0-5 Carlina team either with a broken WR.

The NFC West is the only division that is wide open in terms of playoff probabilities. All the others aren't even close. The AFC East has dead-even odds of the Jets or Pats winning the division.

far from it! the afc west and south are wide open either. the nfc south-race is also worth to mention.
we will destroy the bucs
Look were 2-0 with T.smith, he is clicking, we are just starting to use all if our weapons. The first game he was good, the second he was better, the third I honestly expect a great game from him. The whole team is buying in too him, he is a leader. With him starting I am sure we can get this win, we killed the rams if we played smart.
Patt is playing how we expected him too, he will take care of tampas run game.

We can do this, but I expect at least one other team in the NFC west will get a w.

Very good chance, but we are the only team favored right now.

Being favored doesn't mean anything. They always give 3 points to the home team.

Not always... here's some examples below.

Seahawks were homedogs when we played them in first week.

Jaguars = pickem or -1 at home against Texans, yesterday.

Bears = homedogs (+1) against Viqueens, yesterday.

Dolphins = pickem to -1 or Titans -1 in Miami, yesterday.

We were -4/-5 1/2 and opened up at 6 at some casinos against Rams, yesterday. This might be a tougher match up, Josh Freeman has mobility/strong arm and makes plays. That could be one reason why the opening line is only 3... we'll probably see that line fluctuate throughout the week. 3 is a safe number for oddmakers on certain teams/situations such as the 49er/Buccs match up.
If we can steal one (doubt it) against TB, it will be a great week. Otherwise we all lose.
I think we run the table...

Well -- perhaps that's "hope" more than "think."
