Michael Crabtree

Did he not want to play preseason or was he held out by coaches not wanting him to get hurt?

He get's a pass from me this week but I'll be expecting more in the games to come.

Dude he cost us 14 points based on bad hands and not being in the right spots and you're giving this guy a pass when he didn't even work hard? Smith played like s**t today but come on man you're losing your credibility here, this has got to be a f**king joke.
A lot of coaches have a "no practice, no play" policy. I guess Singletary is not one of them, and Crabtree is a season vet starter who doesn't need practice any more than Allen Iverson did?

The guy doesn't play in any preseason games, acting like it doesn't matter. Sure the throw to his high shoulder was pretty hard, but this is the NFL, you still gotta make that catch IMO (Alex sucked ass this game, no excuses for him either - but that's for another thread). People were saying that playing in Preseason doesn't really matter, but check out this comment by Kevin Lynch:

"Comment: Can a wide receiver lose a game by himself? Michael Crabtree is trying. On radio, they are saying that Crabtree ran the wrong route that lead to the Trufant pick and score. Receivers coach Jerry Sullivan was all over Crabtree when he came to the sideline. Now, do you bench him?"

That's embarrassing for Crabtree who felt the need to sit out of every pre season game. f**k.

Sing should of called out Crabtree and made him play.

As a TEAM; No one played or coached today.
It's week one.
we should have drafted a kicker.

Too early but the red lights are on.
Should not get a game check today.
Should have drafted Michael Oher, f**king raiders ruined their draft and ours.

Crabtree was over-rated last season. All he was asked to do was run basic routes without any of the "reading" required to play against zones and hidden defenses. Reading is only acquired by spending time in the film room and on the field. Today he showed he certainly hasn't put in the film room time and we all know he wasn't in the practice field enough to learn any of the nuances of playing with the big boys.

This isn't an excuse for Smith but when your #1 SuperStar future HOF receiver isn't running his routes and dropping passes, it tends to make a QB less confident, and that is a lot of what I saw after the mid-point of the second quarter.
...is an overconfident, underworking b*tch.

F*ck you, you primadonna diva scrub! Ride the bench next game if you can't figure out how to run your damn routes!
