Is that so? At this point Ginn is the most accomplished reciever on the team. He has prduced more yards and TD's than any other reciever on the team and thus despite his previous problems, he must be considered a legitimate starting option.
Ginn has also been in the league longer than any of our WRs...

Dude WHAT?!!!
The most accomplished Receiver on the team would be Jones not Ginn. But let's remember that chemistry trumps Ginn. He may not even be the 3rd because Hill when given the chance can do a pretty decent job. This is all speculation until September or until Sing names his Starters.
But most accomplished? What?!!! Jerry Rice was accomplished. Taylor was accomplished. Ginn is just as raw as the rest imho. He and accomplished should not be uttered in the same sentence right now. Not unless you are talking about KR duty.

Until he can block, he will never be considered a legitimate starting option on this team. How many times was Morgan singled out in the replay for sealing the edge on a block... as long as Sing is the coach Ginn will not be the #2.
Given that this team does not have the personnel to run outside the hashes; not often enough to justify being a starter if Ginn proves to be a superior reciever who makes more ploays down field.
Take a look at Gore's runs vs the Seahawks last year and tell me Morgan's blocking doesn't justify him being #2 based on that alone. He consistently drives CB's and safeties 10 yards down the field. Unless hell freezes over and Martz replaces Sing as head coach, Ginn will not be #2 as long as Morgan is healthy.

I don't know about you but personally I'm hoping this motioning the receiver into the backfield crap has been erased from the playbook. It's not 1944 anymore.

I still think Morgan starts, but we gotta find ways to get Ginn the ball and allow him to make plays, he is going to make the offense more dangerous when he is comfortable with the playbook....Crabtree, Morgan, Ginn and Davis in a four receiver package is gonna be lethal

If Ginn can block, sure. Maybe we should actually run 3-4 WR sets.

Will never happen even if Ginn learns to catch. As previously stated Morgan is a top blocker at the WR position and Ginn is a piss poor blocker.
Personally I think the Ginn's ability to stretch the field trumps Morgan's blocking. The reality is when we motion Morgan into the backfield to block the defense already knows what the play is.
I definitely see what your saying, stretching the filed is a must..but so is catching the d*mn ball, and i think Morgan is ahead on that aspect, and since were talking about a receiver and all, i think Ginn is going to have to show he can hang on to the ones that count. If he can step up and catch the ball consistently then i believe the job is his, until then it's Morgans job to lose IMHO!

Actually that's incorrect:
Ted Ginn Jr. TD 5
Brandon Jones TD 9
And they are both pretty close to each other in yards and receptions.
So should we start Ginn and Jones because they are the most accomplished?

Did you hear this in the locker room while you guys were dressing down? I can't imagine why he wouldn't have a desire to be special. Lacks competitive edge?
Ginn avoids contact. He is the exact opposite of everything this team is about.
I love how we all throw our players under the bus when we get a shiny new toy.

I think this will be a close competition and if Morgan doesn't step up his game he will be behind Ginn on the depth chart. In 3 seasons Ginn has nearly twice as many receptions and yards as Morgan has in 2. People forget in his second year (with Chad Pennington at QB) Ginn had 56 rec for 790 yards and was thought to be on his way.
As for dropped passes, I hate them, and he finished last year with 9. That tied him with T.O., Marques Colston and Dallas Clark among others and was behind Santonio Holmes (10) Vernon Davis (11) and Dewayne Bowe (11). Crabtree had 7 in a shortened season. In 2008 he was 19th in dropped passes with 6 behind Braylon Edwards, Dwayne Bowe, Brandon Marshall, Terrell Owens, Calvin Johnson, Roddy White, Laveranues Coles, Marques Colston, Greg Jennings, Santana Moss, Bernard Berrian, dallas Clark, Hines Ward, Anthony Gonzalez, Donald Driver and was tied with several players including zone favorite DeSean Jackson among others. I guess my point is that while I hate dropped passes, there are some really good names on that list, and when he had a better qb he had more catches, more yards and fewer dropped passes.

LOL
Josh Morgan has 6 Tds in 28 career games
Ted Ginn has 5 Tds in 48 career games
Ginn has 1 more year on Morgan so of course he is gonna have more yards.
I love the Ginn trade and the fact that he gives us the ability to stretch the field but lets not act like this guy is the next best receiver.
Crabtree and Morgan are clearly better than Ginn as a receiver. Ginn will be no more than a 3rd receiver which is fine.
