The San Francisco 49ers selected Junior Bergen in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but the wide receiver couldn't make enough of an impression on offense or special teams to earn a role on the roster.
The 49ers waived Bergen on August 12. Fortunately for the second-year player, he didn't remain without an NFL team for long.
The New York Jets announced Wednesday that they have signed Bergen, giving the former 49ers draft pick an opportunity to compete for a roster spot.
Bergen spent his rookie season on the 49ers' practice squad and has yet to appear in an NFL game. San Francisco selected him out of Montana with the No. 252 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Now, Bergen will look to make an impression with the Jets and earn his first opportunity to appear in an NFL game.
