I have to admit though, he pulled a lot of wins out of games he played ugly. So if you are judging him on his "film", he is not a very good QB. If you judge him on clutch play (with some luck thrown in), then he is a guy you want on your team.
luck won't save the lions, if he ever has to step in. I just hope he doesnt take a career ending sack behind that line.

Do you not understand the business side of football? We had 4 quaterbacks on the roster and Shaun Hill was the odd man out. Everybody knew we would have cut him sooner or later. I'm very surprised the Lions even gave up a 7th rounder for him.
I wich him the best and he will be a fine backup.

Not only is Martz no longer with Det,since when does the OC make trades

Exactly. It was a football decision and he was going to get cut anyway (Nate Davis has greater potential that Hill so Davis stays). Might as well get something in return.
But I gotta thank Hill for what he's done for the Niners and best of luck to his new team.

It's amazing that a guy with a 10-6 record as a starter could get such little respect. I understand Hill was flawed but the guy had great personality and played to the best of his physical abilities, albeit they were limited. He really took control of the offense to the best of his ability and had heart.
The signing of Carr made Hill obsolete and expendable but I will always have respect for him.

I cant believe you guys. Hill was the only spark that we have seen at the QB position since Jeff Garcia. Alex Smith has all the physcial tools, but when it comes down to it, he just isn't a good QB. The way Shaun Hill played was not pretty, but he had HEART. I wish Alex had half the heart that Shaun did. You guys make it sound like our team is better now without Hill.
Also, whats up with all the disrespect towards Hill? He was a 9er. He never opened his mouth about being demoted to 3rd string after saving Nolans job and was always a class act. Screw you "fans" who keep calling him Noodle. He was one of our players.
Great fans.
