You always have to take pre-season with a grain of salt. The kid has potential, but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.

Smith int was on the Morgan,if you get your hands on it...catch the damn ball....

Neither QB looked like a starter...

O line looked great run blocking, pass blocking, not so much...

Run D played well...

Surprise, surprise, Roman blew a cover two assignment...

Guys and Gals, we might just have the deepest backfield in football with Gore, Coffee, Robinson and Sheets...

Bottom line, one of these QB's needs to step it up, Hill looked worse than Smith and he has been out of football for 18 months. We owe the win tonight to Coffee/Robinson/Sheets, tonight we won despite the passing game.

Lol, i thought our running attack was pretty sweet until Robinson started racking up yards. I then figured out that the Raiders run D is just horrible...

I think I might have been the first to post, some time back, that Davis would end up being the starting QB before the season was over.

My reasoning was that this offense is going to need a QB who is quick, can run around, can fire the ball into tight spaces and win games on his own. None of the others can do that.

The 9ers are confirming that their games are going to be close, that the conservative mind set will keep even inferior teams in the game. How can a team push an awful opponent all over the field, rush for what, 300 yards maybe, and still almost lose?

Davis saved this game and he will be called upon to save others. He may save the coaching staff as well.

Is there any chance that you name is Nate Davis???
He impressed me tonight. Looked a little nervous for a couple of plays then he was all business. Very encouraging.

He'll be 3 or 4th QB so he may not get a single snap this season.
Master Nate!

Lol. But i noticed that Robinson was finding and hitting the holes tonight really well. He usually didn't do that......That power 0 played just kept working and working and workin...
First, there will be no tooting of horns.

Second, playing well against a group of wounded sisters does not a good QB make.

Finally, there are 50 other "Nate Davis is the greatest QB of all time threads"

Lock up this tooter.

his rythm was disrupted? sorry but thats an excuse. smith dealt with the same thing last week. the truth is one of these guys shouldve stepped up and niether of them did. they both looked bad, i thought hill looked worse. we need one of them to be GOOD, not just better than the other guy.

It's a good excuse because Hill had to throw to a scrub like Battle over Isaac Bruce because he didn't start. Not to mention Vernon Davis was pretty much done after the first quarter which took another option away from Hill.
smith and hill were poopy!!!!

ya know what though, maddog? There was a play when the Dline was closing in, and he knew he was going to take a hit. He stood right in there, and fired a rocket to DWalk (methinks!), and that showed some really great confidence... For me, that was the single best play of the game! Showing that kind of poise and confidence are extremely encouraging for a rookie...

I thought Smith played better than the stats implied. I think he definitely played better than last week. He stood confident in the pocket, delivered on target for the most part and threw it away when he was supposed to.

the problem was the dropped balls from the WR/TE And the interception was completely on Morgan. The commentators gave him a hard time for throwing it high on that pass but if he threw it any lower the D-line would have batted it down.

But I still think the job belongs to Hill

oh and how about the beat down Smith delivered on Ellis

Agreed, but it does look like Smith might be improving, he looked more confident this game. If the damn receivers would just catch the damn ball, lol.
