Rookie mini camp.......
so a 6th round TE known for his blocking and lack of athleticism turns out to be a finer pass catcher than a top 10 drafted TE supposedly adept at pass catching and with elite physical tools.
and to think, coming out of college the only quetions for VD were regaring his blocking...he now excels at that, and its his catching thats suspect.

just goes to show how little you can know about a player based on college production and physical stats
or how little you can know based on a rookie mini camp

Let's see more than a mini-camp first before we're dropping our starting TE for a 6th round pick.

What does he know, really?

He attentended rookie minicamp and got a hardon for a player.
this is minicamp. until he plays in an actual NFL game i'm going to stick with the notion that Walker and VD are our TE's.
It will be interesting to see how he develops, but I don't get the subject line of your thread. Why do would anyone think about investing more $ right now on a late round draft pick that has yet to play a down in the NFL?

Lets see...one reason why many fans have been disappointed with Davis is that it seems like every year through mini-camps and training camps we hear how good Davis looks and then the season starts and the 49ers have failed to utilize him as a receiver, he drops balls in games, etc. Just remember that before jumping on the Prescoe bandwaggon at this early stage.

p

That's also called development. Vernon developed into a great pass blocking and run blocking TE. Its just what happened, but he still has alligator arms and hands of stone.
bigger, better blocking Eric Johnson ftw?

HAHAHAHAHAHA...Vernon Davis would eat Pascoe for lunch. The reason Vernon Davis hasn't been productive is because our QBs haven't been productive (when is the last time we've had a 1000yd receiver?) or in the rare time when they are productive he's pass blocking?

Wow the guy has one good weekend and your already wanting to throw VD under the bus?

Considering the turnover at offensive coordinator and the weak performance of the o-line, VD has done a pretty good job for us in his role as an offensive lineman which he pretty much had to stay back and block all the time.

Give VD more time.
