Yup. This defense rivals the 2000 Ravens and 2002 Bucs. Dominating post season performances by each defense.

I hear ya. But think about it--we lost in the NFCCG in 2011, then in the Super Bowl last year, and this year we lost to Seattle who then went on to win it all. Just remarkably heartbreaking. I wasn't even old enough to remember us beating SD in 94. Just want to see us win one in my lifetime.

Dude don't sound so spoiled now. If you aren't old enough to remember 94 then you aren't very old at all, so don't get all melodramatic questioning if the team will win "in your lifetime." Just ask Detroit fans or Seattle fans who passed away before yesterday.

Spoiled? Melodramatic? I watched this team suck for 10 years straight. I love this team man, and we've had some success these past 3 years, but I'm certainly not spoiled. I don't expect "greatness." If anything, after watching the Erickson/Nolan/Sing era I've learned how rarely these opportunities arise. Good job bringing up Detroit and Seattle fans. Indeed, it only validates my point, which, again, is that opportunities to win the SB don't come around often.

With all this being said, the 49ers are gonna win Superbowl 49. It just feels like it's being set up that way in the cosmos, and will probably get another weak-ass AFC opponent like the Colts, or the Chargers.

Yeah, the NFL loves those stupid storylines. Pats win post 9-11, Saints win post-katrina. Lewis, Strahan, Bettis all happen to go out on top the year they announce they're retiring. And all this happened in the span of 12 years. We have SB 49 in the bag lol.
After watching the game, does ANYONE still doubt that we would have slammed the Broncos and Manning on our quest for 6? I know circumstances would be a little different, but I cant help feeling like that late game slip up in Seattle DIRECTLY cost us number 6? Am I the only one?

You're not the only one. Most people here felt the winner of SF-SEA would win the SB. Only the f**ktards on mainstream media picked Peyton to win.

Well the Hawks don't win without this defense for sure.
Living in Colorado Springs, I've been to the brink of nausea for the past couple of weeks with all the Bronco-mania. It's been about as bad as when I lived in Texas and had to listen to all the Cowboy chest-thumping. So, for that I thank Seattle for not making non-Bronco fans like myself have to go through any more of it. Congrats to the 'Hawks, they deserve to be champions. We know we can play with 'em...so next year ought to be something once again in the NFC West.

Does anyone know who on the Hawks potentially will not be back next year? You have to think Wilson is going to want a big contract now that he has a ring. Makes me wonder if the Hawks will go into shambles just like the Ravens after they won.

I'm so anxious for 2014 already!!!!!!
Well congrats to the Hawks. They dominated that whole game much to my amazement and disappointment. I thought they might win but I never expected that Denver would get totally SPANKED!

Now, the slate is wiped clean and we work toward next season. Go Niners!
The worst thing about single-elimination playoffs is the same teams could play next week and opposite result. Also, getting HFA or at least a 1st-round Bye is not overrated.

We should have best of seven series each round like NBA
