Matt Ryan: 2010: 9 Ints for the season and 91 rating. 2011: 6 Ints through 6 games and 81 rating. Mark Scanchez: 2010: 9 fumbles 1 lost. 2011: 6 fumbles and 3 lost through 6 games. His numbers seem to go slightly up each year but still aren't very good. Sam Bradford: 2010: 18 TDs, 60% completion and 7 fumbles 2 lost. 2011: 3 TDs, 53.1% completion and 7 fumbles 4 lost through 5 games ( also could add first injury in pros to cost him playing time) Joe Flacco: 2010: 62.6% completion and 93.6 rating. 2011: 51.4% completion and 79.6 rating. Phillip Rivers: 30 TDs 13 Ints, 101 rating and 7 fumbles 4 lost. 2011: 6 TD 7 Ints, 87.6 rating and 4 fumbles 2 lost through 5 games.

Quarterback -- Philip Rivers, San Diego: There's far too much competition around the league for this spot -- Sam Bradford, Matt Ryan, Michael Vick, Josh Freeman and Kevin Kolb come quickly to mind -- but Rivers has earned it. Rivers' sixth season as a starter has been by far his worst, with seven touchdown passes and nine interceptions, equaling his season total of picks from 2009 and putting him on a pace to obliterate his career-high (15) in interceptions with 24. Rivers has had just one game in which he threw more TDs than INTs, and his 82.3 passer rating ranks 20th in the league, after three consecutive seasons of 100-plus ratings. Rivers says he's healthy, but league sources I talked to say his arm strength looks diminished, and he has uncharacteristically struggled throwing from a muddy pocket, when the pass rush starts bearing down on him. That has always been a strength of Rivers' game in the past, but according to profootballfocus.com, Rivers from a less-than-clean pocket has only a 40.8 completion percentage and a 44.0 passer rating this season. His two fourth-quarter interceptions against the Jets last Sunday were game-killers that saddled San Diego with its second loss this season.

Doesn't Josh Freeman have 4 more picks this year than the entire 2010 season?

Flacco started off HOT and now looks ordinary. He's regressed.

I'd also say Rivers because outside of Brees was the one player who everyone thought could break Marino's season passing record. Now he's throwing too many sub 200 yard games.
