Do you think he gets another shot at a head coaching gig?

He is young enough that if he continues to be a good D coordinator, he will get another shot. Hell Bellicheck didn't look so good in Cleveland. I am not saying he is Bellicheck, but he is young enough to rebound if he remains a good DC.

He will. He's a smooth talker and has a likeable personality.
And he's made such a ridiculous improvement in the Broncos' defense.
Imagine if the Broncos kept Shanahan and Cutler, and hired Nolan. They'd be a contender right now.

What teams do you think he'd be a good fit for?

Shrug. It will take a couple years before gets another shot. Like Jim Mora Jr.

I don't know if the timetable would work well, but he seems to be a good fit for the Jags if they ditch Jack Del Rio.

Mike Nolan turned a team with one of the worst defenses in the league into the #1 scoring defense through Week 3

well
he did play the browns and raiders, two of the worst offensive teams in the league, and two of the lowest scoring teams
I'll give him credit for shutting down the bengals offense

Fewest PPG
Tied for most sacks
Fewest 1st down completions
Top 3 in yards allowed.
7th ranked run D
Pretty damn good start for him, and all this without the proper personnel still. Could be a scary D in a year or 2 once they upgrade the talent in the front 7.

To be fair: 2/3 teams they have faced are the Browns and Raiders. Very poor offensive teams.
They picked off Palmer and the Bengals twice though.

No one can deny that Nolan is a good defensive coach. He is exactly where he should be but was over his head as a head coach. Can you imagine how badly the Niners would have gotten smoked in Minnesota yesterday if he was still the head coach? Singletary has the ability to fire a team up to play their best which is something that Nolan was never able to do.

If he's such a good defensive coach, then why does the 49ers defense look miles ahead of last year's early season team.
